I have had a great experience using this product for the last several year.
I did have 1 drive fail. I have since been buying hard drives that specify they are made for NAS. Plex works well also.

Pretty much junk

Bought this to run a Plex server on and after installinh Plex and updating it to current version Plex would no longer shut down! SSH into RN214 and deleting the folders was the only way I could uninstall Plex because it wouldn't stop even with SSH commands!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good - but not great

Product is a good value mechanically, but long standing issues with their management software makes it difficult to administer. The native management software will not work after bootup and formatting, and only certain browsers will talk to the unit out of the box. Workarounds for this are sketchy at best.

Perfect Home Storage Array

This NAS device has been the perfect home storage array. It lets me expand pretty easily with out much intervention and works like a charm. I have not had any issues with the device. Also being able to port-channel the two gig ports together has been helpful. This thing is holding all my VM’s without any hits to latency.

Excellent new ReadyNas 214

I've just upgraded to the 214 unit which is much faster than my previous model and has space for four drives. Great purchase and very helpful support staff who assisted me with the set-up.
