[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY! My company has ordered many of these docks, as they are recommended for the laptops that we use. We have not seen a single unit that didn't have some kind of issue. Its truly a disappointment that Dell doesn't offer higher quality Docking stations.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Complete waste of money. Had to go back to my little Anker Hub. The display would not work, neither would the mouse, after three days it just stopped working.

It does require the latest BIOS on your Dell Laptop. But once that is done these have been near flawless. One of our 20+ units had a cooling fan issue, Dell repaired it and all it good. One of the best features is being compatible with Mac Pro's and iPads.. These have saved our lunch in several events where someone brought a Mac pro to film a game and the Macintosh Power supply would not provide enough power to all of the USB-C plugs to power the adapters. Once we used this to provide power and another USB-C for the Mac everything worked flawlessly.
First unit failed in only 4 days. Had to go through way too long a process to get the replacement. The tech and I both agreed that the unit had failed but we had to step through all the hoops to get the replacement sent. New one is working. Still preferred the old docking station used on the precision laptops over having to plug in a cable!
I bought the WD19TB in order to set up a "workstation" when using my XPS7390 at home. I really love how the graphics processer in this notebook PC works with the docking station via a single Thunderbolt cable to allow me to connect two display port (DP) 24" monitors. I can either close the notebook and work off the monitors only or leave the notebook screen open and work off all three! This exceeded my expectations. My only quibble - and I don't know if it's a function of my XPS7390 or the docking station - would be that when I plug a powered-up docking station into a shutdown notebook PC via the Thunderbolt cable, it automatically powers up the notebook. Sometimes, I want that, but sometimes I don't. Overall, that's minor compared to the convenience of my dual monitor setup and the extra USB ports it provides. For me, it was well worth the cost.
I recommend this to anyone interest of purchase. It is easy to setup and easy use. Each morning I would plug in and it would power on my system without a glitch in compare to the previously dock I had Thunderbolt Dock TB16. Every few weeks I have to unplug the power cable and reset.
I'm using this with my Precision 5540 and got my boss one for his Macbook Pro 16. Works great on both. The only issue that I've run into is that when my Precision puts my monitors to sleep, it also seems to put the dock ethernet to sleep, causing my VPN connection to drop. Not sure if that's Windows fault or the dock's fault.
