You docking stations are VERY poor. Impossible to figure out which will support more then one HD monitor. You have to press the button 5X to get it to turn on.
With the new XPS laptop being so small, it has few ports to support a computer station. The thunderbolt “docking station” is a great solution for this problem. It should have been suggested to me originally because it truly is essential if the computer is used for work.
I have my laptop, two monitors, my wireless keyboard and mouse and an USB extension device attached to it. Everything I need on one device is powerful to me. Although my Dell monitors came with HDMI cables, I had to order a different display port to get both monitors hooked in, but that was an easy fix.
The Dell dock was needed for multiple accessories. This dock is already almost full. I teach University students online and I need two monitors, camera, printer to all feed through my Dell XPS 13" laptop. There does not seem to be any loss of quality in the Ultrasharp monitors I added this summer. All seems to be working well. It would have been great if I didn't have to pay for all of this out of pocket.
Maybe the Best Dock for Dell XPS 15 so far, but still needs improvement when using (3) monitors

I was looking for a USB-C docking station to power up the laptop with a single button (laptop closed) & run (3) 27" monitors @ 2560x1440. The reason I'm only giving the 3 stars is that this docking station will only run (2) monitors @ 2560x1440, the 3rd monitor runs @ 1920x1080 when using a HDMI input on the Dock.
RECAP: 2 x 27" Monitors @ 2560x1440 1 x 27" Monitor @ 1920x1080 when all (3) monitors were plugged into the docking station
The Fix was using a Monitor with a USB-C Input for video input. While I made this docking station work for me (hybrid setup) by running (2) 27" monitors to the dock via DP cables, the 3rd monitor is hooked directly to one of the the laptops USB-C ports so that ALL (3) Monitors will run at 2560x1440
The Docking station has a power up button, so you don't have have to open up the laptop.
Note: If your only running (2) Monitors, @ 2560x1440 then this issue will not be a problem or (3) monitors at lower resolution than 2560x1440 (example (3) Monitors @ 1920x1080)

The dock is lightweight and portable with plenty of outlets for USB and video. It comes with a pretty heavy power brick, but seems to work fine with the much smaller USB-C brick that came with my laptop. The only minor issue is that the USB-C cable that connects to the laptop from the dock is really stiff and hard to manage nicely. The connector is a long, straight connector instead of a short or angle connector which would have made everything more manageable. Maybe something for the next gen?
The thunderbt dock will fail quickly, it will last one year then fail. Every other Dell product seems to be great quality.
