Works great!

Thermacell works great but I would like to know more about the chemical that makes it work. The active ingredient in the Thermacell Radius is Metofluthrin. Metofluthrin is a chemical created in 2005 by Sumitomo ChemicalCo., Ltd. & was approved by the EPA in 2006. Metofluthrin is extremely effective in killing mosquitoes. During initial testing it was found to be dangerous to dogs, rats, and rabbits. When frequently exposed to Metofluthrin the rats were more likely to develop cancer. So rats, rabbits, and dogs should avoid Metofluthrin but what about humans? Is thermacell safe to breathe? That concerns me.

I bought this 2 years ago it worked great last year but it doesn't work anymore I charged it and it shows it's fully charged but when you press the button to turn it on it just flashes and won't work

Top cover cracked after just a few used

The product was recommended by Bill Green who for decades hosted the popular program “Bill Green’s Maine”. He spent all his time outdoors so we decided to give your product a try. It seems to work but we were very disappointed when the top cover cracked after just a few outings. We have duct taped it to see if we can get it to snap in place and are hoping it will work. Need to upgrade the plastic you are using.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi All - Same with many purchasers I had big expectations of the product. It worked great as long as it is working. After one year, our unit stops charging no matter what I tried using the internet and also support from Thermacell. At the end, they processed my unit under warranty. I'm waiting to receive the unit and give it another chance.
Their customer service and support have been exemplary. I wish I can say that for some other organization.
Highly recommend anyone who is having issues with the unit to contact them for support.

Thermacell showdown

I bought mine last year and after few uses the bottom cracked so we put a tape around to hold the bottom. This year, we are on a second cartridge in total and during the heat, while we were using it outside, the top popped up and we couldn’t fit it back on the base to make it work. So the whole unit cracked and if we tape it down it will somewhat work. This was not a cheap thing to begin with, so I would like to know if there is something we can do to make it work. This year I purchased additional cartridges but it’s painful to force the unit to work.

Compact, light and easy.

We bought this in August of 2021. The first 2 uses seemed to work ok. Then smoke from fires west of us made doing anything outside rather miserable - especially late in the day. Our next opportunity to use & test our Radius finally came just a few weeks ago in south /central Colorado. We were very happy with the performance and would recommend this as a must have on your patio or in your car travel gear. We bought several extra refills to make sure that we do not run out of repellant when not convenient to get to a store. We could not give more than 4 stars because of the expense. We believe lower prices would promote more sales and use.
