Great mosquito repellent

I've had the radius gen 2 (received as a promotion) for roughly 6 months. Previously I've had the gen 1 units for a almost 2 years (purchased at retail). The gen 1 was already a great repeller that they made some key improvements on with the gen 2 model. 1) they improved the battery life and I'm getting close to the rated 6hrs on the gen 2 instead of under 4hrs on the gen 1 unit. 2) they added the ability to charge while in use so you don't have to go back inside when the battery runs out. I use a portable 10,000mah battery that I use when traveling and backpacking and plug it in to keep the gen 2 going.
As a repeller, I use 2 of them to account for wind shift and can sit outside. We're in California and dealing with mosquitos including the newer aedes (daytime biting). Using two radius units they protect our 12'x16' pergola with no problem.
Build quality is better than on the gen 1 that had the magnets and feet fall off, and I've have no problems so far.
These are a definite must have, and worth the money!

I still can't believe how well it works! We were in blissful disbelief. We're by a lake & mountain streams, and surrounded by woods so dusk means our patio/deck becomes infested with mosquitoes - dinner or a glass of wine on the deck at night was unheard of...until Radius!! We still can't get over the effectiveness - and the lack of smell and/or sticky disgusting, hazardous sprays! THANK YOU THERMACELL!!

IT WORKS!!!

My mom had one that ran off of the butane cartridges and said it really repelled the mosquitoes. I decided to get one and saw the Thermacell Radius and liked the fact that it is rechargeable. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it lasts 6 hrs on a charge and takes @ 5 or so hours to recharge. If you were on a camping trip it would be nice if it lasted longer on a charge or if you could put some new batteries in it like the rechargeable headset spotlight I own that runs on 18650 rechargeable batteries that last a long time plus I can take extras with me. The Radius is really small so that could easily make it a little larger to accommodate bigger batteries. That is my only complaint and could easily be fixed. We love it (actually them, I bought another one) because it clears out the mosquitoes. I've tested it many times now when the mosquitoes were horrible and in 20-30 it cleared them out!

Refills not readily available

Bought this model as it seemed to be a newer better product than The previous models. It came with a 12 hour cartridge and seems to work well. My issue is that no that my cartridge is empty I cant find replacement cartridges anywhere.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It does make a difference!

We have tried it out a couple of times so far, and it does seem to make a difference. Last evening we saw a couple of mosquitoes approach us and then fly away - they left us alone! So far we are impressed!
