Power button did not work with my Inspiron, and monitor would not work when plugged in to the dock. I had to reconfigure my home workplace and returned the dock.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This was for a user of a 2-1 5300 Latitude. He had a Venue 11 which he felt was an amazing computer, but it's dock wasn't that great. He really likes the dock and as the IT guy I like the fact he likes it.
These Dell docks rely on DP drivers, which are inconsistent at best. Scaling, even after several driver updates is a bit off in a few areas in Windows, including the Action Center notifications. Adobe also struggles scaling correctly with these drivers.
