It's a dell product so it's going to be mired in mediocrity. The power button doesn't really work and I need to open my laptop lid in order to get my laptop out of sleep or to use the laptop button to turn on my laptop. I had to ditch a third monitor since the port on the dock stopped detecting it. It's pretty much what I expected: won't work completely right but at least fulfills the basic minimum so I can perform my tasks. Been instructed to update laptop but of course my bios update fails on my laptop which is 2 months old. This bios fail happened on two other dell laptops so it isn't just this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Specs. Crazy extremely noisy unpredictable fan.

I've had this for a few months now and the unpredictable noisy fan is making it difficult to work with. In all other respects its a fantastic device with all the connections you need but that fan noise, man! I've had the service call, updated BIOS/Drivers, etc. A helpful Dell tech even took control of my PC to try and fix. It did get better for a while but its worse again. Intermittent loud fan but no airflow seems to be coming out. It's not even warm.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought two dell monitors and wanted to connect them to my Mac so I got this dock. Well a week and 3 support calls later I determined that this dock is not compatible with Mac. How hard would it be to add which operating systems the dock works with. Lots of easily avoidable pain and frustration.
