Other than a defective display, the machine performed decently

I've ordered the T490 laptop through the sales call center, and was easy to interface with the sales person. The laptop arrived on time and it's working perfectly as expected.
Its the first laptop that I bought on my own and I'm very pleased about it. I'm currently using it for school and its so much better to work with than other pcs i used and the keyboard is mostly the reason why. The touch screen isn't very necessary but useful on the fly when you're out. Also, I didn't expect the texture to be soft, so be careful not to scratch it. Still, it's built like a tank.
This is my second Lenovo Laptop. A well-balanced, responsive 'non-clacketty keyboard is a necessity - and Lenovo does not disappoint. The addition of a Caps Lock light is much appreciated, as is the back-lit keyboard, and great screen clarity. Only two quibbles . . . the very sharp, angular leading edge and corners of keyboard. Very uncomfortable for wrists. On the T450 there was the slightest of angle drop plus smooth corners allowed hours of comfortable use. I miss this! Second is the heat produced from underside vents. Probably due to the slimmer profile. Could use the T450 for hours without undue heat -- with the T490 I've had to invest in a Targus chill mat. Overall though, a very good product.
Before I start to use the T490, I augmented memory to 40GB and disk capacity to 2TB. I installed Fedora 32. I also use USB-C mini dock and 2 external monitors. The system works great.
