Disappointed

We have been having issues with the temperature on this fridge. We have reached out to GE and they have not been helpful at all, say someone will call us and they do not. We are now months out, no solution and we are constantly tossing food out as it is freezing and getting ruined. Extremely disappointing.

We'd like to help out with your refrigerator freezing your items. Food load is an important factor. The fresh food drawers and compartment should ideally be at least 1/2 full or more. Freezing is more likely to occur when the refrigerator does not have enough food to absorb the cold air. We also recommend checking the temperature settings, we recommend setting the fresh food section between 37°F and 42°F. Inside leaking water. Ice build up the frig and then defrosting dripping in draw.
Response from cafeappliances.comBy Jonathon@CaféAugust 3, 2026
As food freezes, some of the moisture in the food is drawn to its surface and freezes as well. This can cause frost to appear on the inside of packages or containers. If ice has accumulated on the floor of the freezer or under the fresh food vegetable pans, this could indicate a clogged drain tube. For the best assistance, we recommend scheduling an appointment with our Bodewell service team. Pricey Exterior, Average Interior
on July 10, 2026

It's a perfectly fine GE 33" refrigerator, dressed up with Cafe doors. The interior is nothing like the Cafe 36" version: no light wall, no grey interior, no gold-trimmed shelves.

Smallest freezer ever and not the quietest

It’s the smallest freezer I’ve ever seen. We have to spend more money and purchase another fridge/freezer for the garage. Would not recommend it for a family with more than 2 people. It’s also much louder than our GE profile that was pretty old.

We want to help make sure that you enjoy your new appliance and provide some information to help with utilizing the space in your freezer. Your freezer has drawers that can be removed for extra space as well as dividers for organizing your items. There is more details on how to remove the baskets or dividers depending on your model starting on page 15 at the link here: https://images.salsify.com/image/upload/s--od8CRa4X--/dc45acea03a620b2077e05b3fa8a568956ea97d3.pdf.
Newer refrigerators may sound different than older models as they use updated technology and include more features. The compressor in a refrigerator is designed to run 80-90% of the time, which is more energy efficient than stopping and starting frequently, so you may hear it during normal operation.

Great Features!

Happy with this refrigerator. Easy to keep clean, large-sized shelves on the doors. Holds enough food for two people. Once in a while you can hear the ice maker, but overall, it is very quiet. I really like the warning beep if the door is open too long. It is a beautiful model and fits well in the kitchen space. It is also easy to pull out to do cleaning behind it. The freezer size could be larger. Otherwise, it is perfect for our needs.

The refrigerator allows you to display your items like a gallery with showcase LED lighting that is positioned throughout the interior to spotlight your favorite foods and containers. We're glad to hear you're enjoying it, and we're confident it'll continue to serve you well for years.

Decent but not great

The refrigerator section is pretty good. It has a nice capacity, although the shelves seem kind of cheap. The chilled water feature isn’t very good, as the spout is so close to the wall that trying to fill thick chill cups is a challenge. The freezer section though is poor. Capacity is decent, but it does not open or close smoothly. It makes ice well, but there doen’t seem to be a way to keep it from making too much ice unless you shut it off. Clearly not much engineering effort was put into that section.

We'd like to provide some information on your new refrigerator's freezer drawer and ice production. If the freezer drawer is wobbling, crooked or uneven when it is opened, this called "racking" and is normal. This racking is an advantage when the freezer drawer closes, allowing the gasket on the freezer drawer better flexibility to seal against the refrigerator cabinet. This most often occurs when one side of the handle is pulled order to open the drawer. To prevent racking, we recommend opening the freezer drawer by pulling straight out from the center of the door handle.
The icemaker will produce ten cubes per cycle, which is approximately 100-130 cubes in a 24-hour period depending on the freezer compartment temperature, room temperature, number of door opening and other use conditions.

Love how quiet it is!

Love how cold it keeps all my food. Wish the water was on the outside, having to keep the door open while letting all the cold air out is frustrating... Would be nice if it was 21 cu. in" for 2 people it is small.. Also, makes great ice but wish it had a cover like my old GE Profile... My electricity did go down replacing to a newer frig and love that it is quieter than my GE Profile
