This is a great kit. Love the architecture line. Not really playable (expected). Good for a more experienced/older builder.

More fun than I thought it could be

My adult daughter loves these things. Sometimes they sit around for months waiting for a special day to break the seal, as was the case with her Christmas gift. I thought an intermediate size architectural kit would be something we could open and do together. The Empire State Building was the perfect balance between something small enough to do and have fun with without getting bogged down in something that would take forever and sit around waiting for us to get motivated. There were virtually no challenges in putting this together, and it looked really great when completed--far better than the Eiffel Tower or the very weak and small Sydney Opera House. We had no missing parts (a few extra ones were there, but don't think we left anything out), and the instructions were easy to follow. This is definitely a kit that could be built by someone who had never attempted a LEGO project before.

Excellent Detailed model of an iconic skyscraper

I found this model to show the elegance of the original and the most sturdy version of SNOT construction I have built. I liked the hidden details (the escalators inside) and the accuracy of the proportions. I enjoyed the build and the accompanying facts in the instructions.
I visited this building’s observation deck when it held the title of world’s tallest building.
Of course I put had to put a mini fig dressed as King Kong on the top.

Nicely Done

My household owns all of the Architecture Lego’s so when this set came out we had to have it. The only reservation I had was the monotony of the numerous exterior bricks, however Lego had an answer, within the directions they split it up in such a way that you do not realize the hundreds of exterior pieces you place on the building- well done Lego !! I also enjoyed that there were quite a few new building techniques. The building is solid and with 1700 pieces was very easy to build and a very enjoyable build. My son and I are Lego crazies with 100’s of sets and we are always looking for the newest Lego to come out and we are glad this one was added to the Architecture series’s as it looks majestic standing next to our Statue Of Liberty. Thank You Lego - Keep Up The Quality Work
