[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a handful of nice travel bags but this one moves up near the top. From appearance to function to sustainability, this bag checks all the boxes. It is fairly minimal and understated in appearance, which lends itself to a lot of uses and styling. There are a lot of clever and subtle details which help provide a number of functions and storage possibilities. Magnetic handles and adjustable straps with hooks, along with durable constructions are all here. Combine all that with it being made from recycled plastics and it's hard to beat.

Perfect for a weekend getaway

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag is perfect for a weekend getaway or an additional bag for a long trip. I flew from Chicago to Amsterdam last month and was able to fit this in the overhead which allowed for free space under the seat in front of me. The compatibility with travel locks put me at ease of mind when I used the train to go to various countries once on my trip.
And what stood out the most to me as far as uniqueness goes was that it was made from recycled plastics! Not many companies can boast this yet still have a stylish product. I am excited to use this for many years to come.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Everything I wanted in a Duffel

I have a need for duffel bags as I have a lot of short 2-day work trips where I don't see the need to use a suitcase. The functionality is second to none, external pockets are a game-changer, and the packing cubes fit everything I need and more. Even after using both packing cubes there is a little space left over on top for my dress shirts, packable towel and travel steamer. BUT what I truly appreciate the most is the structure of the bag. It's able to stand on its own without caving in making the sheer usability fantastic. It is not like most that are just one floppy piece of fabric and this, to me, makes it the perfect duffel.

Great bag

One of the best travel duffels I have ever used. High quality and of course works great with my favorite packing cubes...the Peak Design ones. My only complaint are the handles. Having the ability to carry this bag as a backpack was a huge plus for me. Unfortunately the straps are way too uncomfortable. Even for hand carrying the straps are not good. Magnet is too weak, really hard to tell there is even a magnet in there. If you don't have the handles facing the right way the stitching will dig into your hand. Very frustrating to have to turn your handles around when you pick it up. For the price, I would still recommend this bag. Great organization and fairly roomy for a 35L.

Nice Duffel Bag
on April 9, 2021

I like my new duffel bag from Peak Design. I bought it to replace a TUMI Alpha duffel bag which has a poorly designed shoulder strap with very little padding. Peak Design duffel has plenty of padding on the shoulder strap, making it convenient to carry on your shoulder. PD's duffel is not as spacious as Tumi's Alpha duffel, but it's ok. It's plenty enough for my needs. The handles could be better though on PD's duffel. I find that the handles don't feel as comfortable in the palm of your hand in contrast to Tumi's Alpha duffel which has a leather band around the handles. Overall, I'm quite happy with my new duffel bag from Peak Design.

Very good, needs better hand/backpack straps

This is just the right bag for most trips. Great material, great pockets, big enough, good price. But the hand straps needs work -- handles too stiff to hold by hand, and straps too short to use as backpack straps. If Peak Design developed improved hand straps as an accessory, I would definitely buy them, and this would become my primary travel bag.
