Yet another excellent LEGO Architecture Skyline!
on January 15, 2019

Great set! I was one the fence about this one for a moment but then just decided to pull the trigger due to how much I've enjoyed the rest of the series... I'm so glad I did! I love the skyline series and this is a great addition. There's actually a lot more than meets the eye at first glance, and the design is rather clever and extremely sturdy. While some aren't into the 3D "forced perspective" nature of the Golden Gate Bridge, it works quite well and looks better than you'd expect once assembled. Plenty of intricate details in this set more than make up for that one minor detail if you're on the fence like I was! Grab it, you won't regret it!

Could be better

The most disappointing part of the build was the bridge. I’m not a fan of the perspective view. Enjoyed most everything else.

A lot of detail in a small space

Lego has brought in many elements of the wonderful city of San Francisco with this Architecture set. Simple elements are used very effectively to convey the hilliness of the city and the Bay.
My only complaint is the instructions printed on black background paper. Dark elements are nearly impossible to see, making the build more difficult. I hope to see more of the world's great cities in the future.

We're glad you enjoyed your build! You'll also be happy to know that based on feedback we've received our plan is to move away from the black background in our building instructions. We don't have a timeframe yet, but it's in the works!

Awesome Set
on February 5, 2019

From the first time that I saw this set, I knew that I had to have it.
It's absolutely stunning to see in person. The main focus point is obviously the Golden Gate Bridge. Although it's built in a maroon color rather than the bright red orange color it actually is, the Lego designers captured its beauty perfectly with the swinging cables. This part of the model is what made this set a must-have in my book.
The other buildings in the set are pretty well captured too. The designers did a great job with the Transamerica Pyramid. I also love the printed bricks used in Alcatraz Island.
Overall, the Lego designers really hit a home run with this set. It was a really fun build that looks awesome!

Wear Flowers in Your Hair

Yes I was really impressed with the level of detail and the powerful suggestiveness of the bricks to depict the beautiful SF skyline. I am seeing a shift in Lego with their new skyline sets to be more about capturing a scene versus the pure architectural theme of say the New York set which has no scenery and is all about just the buildings. This might be too because NYC is so rich in architecture but NYC also has its share of iconic bridges, ya know what I mean! At first I did not agree with the orientation of the Golden gate bridge towers but Lego's is all about subjectivity and the power of suggestion and I now understand why they did it this way as it presents a much more pleasing view. Nice Job on this city by the bay scene. I live in CA and go often to SF for pleasure and work so it is special.

Best skyline set yet!

This set is the best skyline yet... capturing not just specific structures, but the whole city's feel and aesthetic. It's stunning, and a fun build.
The only downside is it's so detailed, it makes some of the earlier skyline sets-- ie. New York (which needed a bridge in there)-- look plain by comparison!
Dear LEGO: Please add a Brooklyn Bridge set to the Architecture or Creator Expert lines. It would be a huge hit.

One of the best representations
on January 10, 2019

Having recently rebuilt some of my older Architecture skylines, particularly thinking of Venice, when I got this new set, I was really really impressed by the depth of the representations. I agree with another reviewer that it is not simply buildings all separate, but there has been an effort made to group the buildings and give the skyline less of a '2d' look. I particularly love the mini coloured houses, they are really cute. My favourite of the skyline series so far......
