This is the second Hand Blender that I have owned. I primarily purchased this one because the removable 8" blending arm with the bell blade is made of stainless steel. I wanted to be able to blend warmer liquids during the cooking process. The blender works well for this, but, I find that the procedure of attaching and removing the blending arm are difficult, especially removal of it. The connection is quite tight and the smooth, slick surface gives no way to really get a grip on it to be able to twist it for removal. I have even tried using one of my hot pads with a gripper surface to be able to help in the process. I have typically had to get help to remove the blender arm so that I can wash and put it away. I am disappointed in the product for this reason.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Where are the hearts?

I bought it expecting to have the special hearts. I could have gotten a red hand blender at my local stores but I especially thought I would like the hearts on it. I am sure I will be pleased with the blender and I am expecially looking forward to the ease of making sweet potato soup and butternut squash . You can always depend on Kitchen Aid
