This laptop is amazing overall. Great performance, great screen, very fast and powerful. If you're a gamer like me and you need a cheaper gaming laptop that still delivers high performance, then this is the one. I had no issues with heating. cooling system and fans are more than capable of keeping it from overheating, although they might get a bit loud, but I would still prefer that to issues regarding overheat any day. I have the RTX 2060 which is more than enough to play games in ultra in 2020 and still cheaper than other RTX models. along with a 1 TB of SSD, the performance is just superb and really fast. The keyboard on this is one of the best ever keyboards I have tested in a laptop. Keys arevery clicky and travel well with great RGB back-light (that I wish was more customizable but still looks great). I personally do not mind the cam being in the lower part of the screen rather than the top as I almost never use it and when I did it was still good. I play most games on ultra with no issues to performance or lagging (Assassins' Creed Odyssey, NFS Heat, ARK Survival, etc...) The only reason I gave 4 stars and that I would give 5 if these things were better: - Battery life: It only lasts about 2-3 hours with G-Sync off and battery saver mode on. while other gaming laptops can still reach 6-8 hours of battery life. Maybe it would last even longer if screen refresh rate was customizable (lowering it to 90Hz or even 60Hz will prolong battery life a lot) - Size of the charger is really big. Probably twice as big as any other laptop charger I've used. It isn't much of a big deal for me personally as I don't usually travel with it but I would still prefer a smaller more efficient charger.
Nonetheless, this laptop is a powerhouse and I am very happy with my purchase. I bought this in a promo period and it would have probably cost me double to purchase any other gaming laptop with the same specifications. Highly recommended.
Laptop is built well, screen is nice and bright. Keyboard layout is a little unconventional, physical mouse clicks are nice but click buttons are wobbly and move around. Touchpad could also be a little bigger. Thermals are good, doesn't thermal throttle when playing games. Battery is HORRIBLE, gets 1 hour under simple web browsing at dim screen light and no keyboard backlighting without hybrid mode, 2 hours with. I have no idea how this laptop's battery is so god awful bad when similar 57whr batteries can last 7 hours. Perhaps you should look into undervolting under light loads, or simply placing a bigger battery and throwing out the old dated HDD for a second m.2 nvme slot for optional expanded storage. Webcam placement is also funny, video angle is better from the top of the screen. Port selection is good, could have the power icon light up when not plugged in. Currently if not plugged the icon isn't lit up, so you can't see where the power plug is, and it's even slightly further spaced out than the other IO. Overall it's a solid 4/5 but the battery really kills it, hardly a usable laptop more like a desktop replacement without the price value or performance of a desktop. Also power brick is unbelievably huge, similar power bricks can output the same watts at significantly smaller form factor.

Great performances, i can play pretty much all my games with high settings at 1440p resolution on an external monitor. The computer also work great with the HTC Vive. On the other hand the battery generally only last about 2h30 to 3h doing general productivity The computer could have used an extra or two usb type A (the computer only have 3 usb type A), but at least there's a type C port, so you only need the right adapter.
I ordered a Legion Y740 customized with RTX 2080 with Max Q recently. It performed well in games. The reason I am rating it with 2 stars is because since day one, one time out of four the system would completely freeze when either restarting or rebooting the computer. It would freeze in this blue screen from Windows that says either “Restarting...” or “Shutting Down”. The only way out was to manually hold the power button to turn it off. What worried me is how QC is done with these laptops, since I could easily repro this issue as I said one of four times. I returned the laptop for a full refund that I am still waiting for. Also, thinking that it would be something related to the Windows installation, I decided to reinstall it myself but I was still experiencing this issue.

Keyboard stopped working the second time I turned it on. Maybe 60 minutes of use. Unfortunately I didn't open my computer within 30 days and couldn't return it. Was forced to send it in for repair.

This is the optimal laptop for graphic design. I am an artist and found that It handles very smoothly in Photoshop and other art software on very large files which has been a problem for me in the past. Not anymore! I chose this laptop because I needed an HDMI port for my drawing tablet, not many laptops these days have them so this was just what I needed. Love the graphics card. Runs great for World of Warcraft and Overwatch and high resource demanding games. I would recommend this laptop.
Came in with a bent screen after taking about a month to deliver. Quite saddening and disappointing
