[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used these lanterns several times, and have actually now put one in the dash of my car in case of emergencies. These do take AAA batteries which do not come included. The brightness level of the actual bulb cannot be adjusted, but the way the lighting is adjusted is by sliding the top of the lantern up and down. This works great for whole room lighting, but for up close work is too bright and does cause a bit of eye strain. I would definitely use these when needing to light up a bigger area. They are also very lightweight, yet rugged and have a nice carrying handle as well.

Perfect for dark spaces!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a super dark garage and the flourescent lights continue to burn out, leaving our laundry area in total darkness. These little tac lights are the perfect solution. Running on batteries and only needing to pop open, they provide bright light! We have one set up over our laundry station and the additional two are in our kitchen drawer as a flashlight replacement.
I would recommend this to a friend!
