Crappy interface

Got this us an unexpected birthday present…always wanted one. I’m a reasonably capable tech person and found the interface ridiculously difficult to use. In particular, stynching with the RidewithGPS app took hours to figure out. Not sure why I couldn’t locate that app in Garmin Connect. As that appeared not to be possible, I had to resort to the legacy approach of accessing RideWithGPS on my PC, then connecting my Garmin Edge 830 to Ny computer and dragging a route from download files to Garmin new files to access the route on my Edge 830. Why isn’t this a simple wireless connection to the RidewithGPS app??? I Will use thé Garmin for thé first time today to cycle through the downloaded route, and will return the Garmin if the experience isn’t satisfactory.

I had the Garmin 800, it finally broke. I wished I would have replaced it sooner. The 830 has so many more great features. I’m finding more and I’ve only had it for 3weeks.

I bought this unit over a year ago to replace my 810. I just started using it a month ago. my 810 was acting up and becoming glitchy. My 810 has served me well over the past several years. I will still use it when i go mountain biking. The 830 is an absolute joy to use. All the features work so much better than my 810. Don't get me wrong my old 810 served me well too, but it was past time for me to move on.

What a piece of crap

Charged it, synced it to my phone and surprise there's virtually no map to be seen from the navigation screen!!!! I've had terrible luck with Garmin's in the past so I'm really questioning why it would be different this time around. Even though its new it's going in the junk drawer and I'll I recommend buying any other product on the market.

Fantastic features

The Garmin Edge coupled with the Garmin Varia radar taillight give me a profound sense of safety and awareness while riding my bike. The computer was easy to set and works as advertised.

Love the Customization

I purchased my 830 a couple weeks ago after ordering my new Trek Madone. Its customization of the screens is very nice and integrates well with my bike. The button near my brakes that changes the screens is really cool too. The one thing I wish was different is the data screens are monochrome. (black and white) The unit is capable of color, because the maps are in color. So why there is no color data screen option is a mystery.
