Tricky sensor pairing, but worth it

I had to watch two You tube videos to learn how to pair sensors and arrange display. Good telemetry/excellent GPS and easy to use touchscreen.

Learning to use Garmin 830

I really like the touchscreen. What I’m trying to figure out is if I can import a route from my ridewithgps app. It would be helpful if there were someone I could talk to for support. I’m getting ready to go on a ride today and use it for the first time.

Good balance features and price

I had this computer while ago then tried less expensive computers and eventually came back to 830 again. Touch screen is comfortable and other features as well, specially ability to connect extra battery.

I like it a lot so far! Easy to read and adjust. Expensive though. I'd like to get the Varia but really pricey for a family guy like me.

Software is a work in progress

As an owner of an Edge 500, 800 and 1000 I had hoped that the usual Garmin software and feature glitches would be out of the way by now. But no such luck. Dim screen, Grade change is significantly delayed. Who thought that a minimum of 100 ft per division on the elevation screen was a good idea. Every other Garmin bike device I have owned started with 40 and 80. 100 is pretty useless if you don't live in the mountains. Still cannot disable virtual partner. How hard can that be? On the other hand, better than the 1030 plus I returned.

Liking this unit a lot!

I recently purchased this unit as an upgrade from my 520 Plus. I wanted to have touch screen capability. More than that though, this 830 does so much more. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I've had this about a week. The features offer a great way to push myself just a little further and to get my fitness goals going. I like that my spouse can track my ride if he wants and that a negative event would alert him to a fall and give a location. I got the package, which includes different mounts as well as a heart rate monitor and wheel rotations. The record includes a good deal of information about your ride. Very nice.
