100% LOVE IT
on September 20, 2022

I love this thing. Having all the data at my fingertips is key in tweaking my performance. This Garmin setup is the perfect entry into having a computer on your bike. I live in NYC and am surprised at how well it navigates for street biking. It links up with Ride with GPS & Strava perfectly. Having heart-rate and cadence info provides fantastic insights as well. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a computer on their bike.

Garmin Edge 530 Rock Solid
on September 6, 2022

The Garmin Edge 530 includes a heart rate monitor, speed sensor and cadence sensor. Keep in mind the Edge 530 does not have a touch screen and requires pushing actual buttons. I find this a benefit because I ride in rain and snow, which can make touch screens hard to use and in the winter heavy gloves don't work well with touch screens. The Edge 530 with the HR monitor, using the Garmin apps, feeds my workout data to various fitness programs and to coaches. The Edge 530 has some fun tech, including flow and air-time, which is great for mt biking. Great device and accessories. I recommend the Edge 530 to any cyclist and the kit with additional sensors to anyone looking to get more detailed about their workouts. I did have some struggles with synching the Edge 530, Garmin Apps and other Apps. I had to delete and start over two times. But still only took about 25 minutes.

Great for my mountain bike rides

This computer has been a total game changer for tracking my rides. I love that it's small but still easy to read what's on the screen. It allows me to download routes and sync my Strava and TrailForks accounts. Also, the distance tracking is way more accurate than the previous watch that I was using to track my rides. I can also broadcast my heart rate during an activity from my Forerunner 245 so I get complete stats to look at after a ride.

Lots of awesome feature, lots of missing features
on August 29, 2022

The device is awesome. It looks sleek, gives me all the info I need right in front of my eyes, and makes me feel like I'm driving a high-end car. The GPS tracking is highly accurate and even the speed and gradient data feels spot on. It will even build you a training plan and prompt you with that day's workouts when you start your ride. I used this to train for a 75 mile race, and since I had never trained for a bike race before, this was super valuable.
However, software is Garmin's weakness. It doesn't play well with Garmin watches, which is frustrating. Also, the phone app (the way to interact with the device) isn't intuitive and lacks features like sharing bike workouts.

An awesome addition to my mountain and my road bike

I like the fact I can move this computer head back and forth from my mountain bike and my road bike simply by choosing which bike on the start up screen.
I did need to reference the Garmin website when I upgraded my road bike to DI2. Between the Garmin website and the Shimano app, it wasn't that hard.

Awesome battery life!

My old garmin kepy on dying mid ride, so I got this new one a couple years ago. The battery is amazing. I have gone on several multi-day bikepacking trips with long all day rides and only needed to charge it after 3 days of riding. It still had 20-25% battery life after 3 long days and I was not running it in battery save mode.

Battery life on really long rides 8+ hours with Navigation is questionable.
