Fabulous device!

This is my 3td Garmin edge device (520 and explorer) and this is the best of the bunch. It’s packed with features, sleek and the battery life is better than the other two. I love how it connects with my SRAM eTap and have a display page that shows data just from it.

Playing nice with I phone

Everything works great, I like the training feed back.
the screen is a upgrade from the 520.
The only problem has been it doesn’t play well with my I phone it’s 50/50 that it will
Down load segments or upload a ride.
Not the greatest thing for someone who rides every day.
Also if I ride in the GYM it’s pain in the Butt to load into Garmin but that’s not the
530 problem !

Horrible Functionality

Continuous shutdowns and loss of power, I finally returned it for my money back. Made riding my bike and tracking too stressful taking out the enjoyment of being on my bike.

Great bike computer

Everything I need and more. My only gripe is ride uploading, takes a while, has a hard time connecting to my iphone, even with my fr945 disconnected. A seamless iphone and wifi connection would be most welcome. Otherwise 5 star

It's good but not great

I have owned MANY Garmin devices over the years. I don't remember ever having so many devices with buggy features. I love that Garmin pushes the limits to give us great new features, and with that comes occasional issues. BUT all my newest devices have crashed, not worked or just generally fallen short of being as reliable as you would expect. YET I continue to buy their products...so maybe the problem is me...

No instructions!
on October 11, 2019

The Edge 530 seems to be able to do almost anything except walk the dog. But it comes without instructions. If you already know how to work Garmin GPS bike computers, it is probably wonderful. The owner's manual tells you what it can do, but is pathetic on how to get it to do those things. Unless you have a friend who is gps computer savvy, buy something else. Or accept it will be a very steep learning curve, and you will frequently lose data you wanted to save.

Huge upgrade over my Edge 820
on October 11, 2019

Screen is bigger, device is faster and battery life is longer. Love how it can show grade, distance remaining, gain remaining and elevation profile while you're on a climb. Also love the live tracking, incident detection and light management features for increased safety. My 820 was touchscreen which was tricky to use with gloves/sweat/rain. I opted for the 530 with physical buttons and find it much easier to use,

I love it so much!

It's really the best bike computer I've owned, especially when paired with the Varia radar. It does everything I needed it to. Maps are superb, stats are great! Had only one hiccup when first setting up the device, but a reset fixed it.
