Great features but fails on the basics, again!

The screen is nice and easy to read except for the maps. Pressing the back button causes the device to turn in the mount. The buttons feel really cheap, as you press them, you can feel clicks that don't do anything. I'll just live with these questions: Why, after charging, does my Edge 530 get stuck trying to boot? Why does my Edge 530 randomly reboot while recording rides? Why does my Mac never see it as a drive? Why is it so hard to get my Strava routes on it using the Connect IQ thing? Why does it fail to remove the added Strava Suffer Score field? Why is my track line on the map so faint and hard to see that it becomes useless when out on a ride (honestly, I have no idea where I just came from, how can I decide where to go)? So many questions... I would not recommend to a friend.
This was purchased as an upgrade to my Edge 520. I love the MTB metrics, improved battery life, and the ability to display roads while venturing out on my road bike. It's reliable, tough, and able to capture more information than I can use.
I've had this for six months now and the connection between this and the iPhone Sucks!! Have to reconnect almost every ride! Why? What a Joke! If I had to to start over I would Not buy this one!!
I have two of these. The elevation doesn’t work, the grade % doesn’t work, and the heart rate doesn’t work (with any of my four heart rate monitors). It was designed in such a complicated way that it makes it very user in-friendly. While it does have some nice features, there are so many screens and features that are completely useless - and there’s no way to get rid of them if you don’t want them. I wouldn’t recommend the 530 to anyone, and I would happily return both of the for a loss if I could just get my old faithful, always reliable Edge 500’s back.
