Does not sync with iPhone

On one hand you have a very convoluted UI, but with some patience, one can get the hang of it and it certainly does what you need it to do.
When it comes to syncing with the iPhone, it has been a COMPLETE FAIL. I have spent a lot of time with Garmin tech support, and to their credit, they are great. The problem is that my iPhone keeps falling out of sync and now that I have the newest iPhone (11 Pro Max) with the latest iOS, it is even more rubbish. I had tech support help me instal a new beta version of the Garmin's UI, but 1 day into a 6 day cycling ride from SF to LA (to raise money for City of Hope's cancer program), the Garmin decided to no longer synch. I went through the whole rigamarole tech support has taught me in the past and nothing works.
I'm annoyed and I have to wonder if Garmin has become a jack of all trades and a master of none. Yes, at this point I wish I had another cycling computer (you can imagine the brand).
Love Di2 connection showing gear and battery level. Really like the color coded hill profile on loaded rides with GPS. Always nice to know how much is left on a climb. Need external battery if you are using all the features on a ride and the ride will last more than ten hours.
this is #3 Garmin EDGE 530. The firs two had issues with buttons and then the GPS didn't work correct. This one in MTB mode seems to be confused. I ride to and from the trail on paved road and the MTB dynamics records jumps that never happened and then does record the ones in the actual Trail... I don't understand why Garmin doesn't correct this issue. See attached activity...
Great product & software with some little issues. The 530 needs to be a bit more accurate under any conditions. Somehow it freezes while riding. This is a major flaw & performance killer. Having to turn it off (pressing buttons for about 1 minute) so it can operate normal makes me what to switch the 530 for some other computer. Other than the mentioned issue, it's a great product.
Bought 3 days before riding a century. There's more to figure out from an operational standpoint. But for what i could squeeze in before the ride, it was excellent
