Great multi-purpose navigation and activity tracking

No issues so far. Bit of a learning curve with all the settings and options, but once you get to know the machine it's very reliable, has a great battery life, and the navigation is exceptional. I like that there is no touch screen because when I go skiing I can have it attached to a lanyard in my pocket with the screen on, and pull it out while still wearing my gloves and not worry about accidental screen touches.
This was an unexpected use, as I mainly got it for gravel biking and mountain biking, which is works great for.
The Garmin Edge 530 has been a perfect fit for my needs.

As a cyclist moving from 'recreational' to 'avid', the Garmin Edge 530 head unit gives me all the tracking and feedback I'm looking for - at a price that didn't blow my budget. Quick, reliable connection to speed, cadence and heart monitor sensors let me start a ride without too much prep time.
During a ride, I don't miss the touchscreen feature available in higher-end units. In fact, once I got comfortable with the button controls, I prefer the tactile nature of this design - especially when wearing gloves in colder weather.
I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of stats provided by the Garmin Connect app. And for cyclists linking to apps like Strava, the data uploads so quickly, my ride stats are available before I walk through the door of my house after a ride.
Having ridden all over the world, and for the longest time riding with the original Edge 500, the Edge 530 is perfect me. Having a color screen with maps, not just a bread crumb trail to follow, is an awesome upgrade. Doing this while staying true to original intent of the 500 is even better. It's tough, simple and it will last forever. Just a note, my first Edge 500 still works 9 years later, and still makes it out on rides drenched in sweat and rain.
