On my fourth replacement

Happy with the features and functionality when working...but, this is my third warranty replacement for a faulty barometer/altimeter. The customer service was great and I received replacement units quickly, but I am not impressed with the reliability. I had an Edge 520 that was bulletproof and I’d expect the same out of an upgraded unit. Hopefully the next gen won’t have issues.

I have used this several times and absolutely love it. I highly recommend it for cycling. There are many metrics measured so that I can track my cycling performance. I like nerdy details like that! The map and navigation features are also pretty cool and easy to use. I have only used the Edge during road cycling and my geographic position and surrounding features were constantly up to date and very precise. I like the crash detection and emergency help options as well. Definitely piece of mind on those long cycles on quiet roads. There many customizable screens that I revolve through when cycling so I can keep up to date with speed, location, elevation, and health performance. I pair it with a chest heart strap, cadence sensor, and speed sensor. I also use a Garmin Instinct and have paired the Edge with that for heart rate and other metrics. So that is an option if you don’t want to buy the peripherals. Some have said the buttons are confusing. I don’t find that to be the case at all. However, I am a long time Garmin GPS user so I am accustomed to Garmin devices. My only complaint is that there is a lag with hill grade readout.
I finally upgraded from the 520 and I appreciate the improved screen, status page, alarm, climbing graph, battery indicator and more. But I still am disappointed that (1) I can't have turn-by-turn active and have Strava live segments on at the same time, and (2) the buttons on the 530 don't work as well as the ones on my old 520, and (3) can only hold 100 Strava live segments.

Using for biking and kayaking, works great except there does not seem to be a way to add paddling as an activity type. The device has been in the water a few times, no problem. Battery life is way enough.
This is my first Garmin, while it isn't a touch screen, it is still very easy to use. I love the real time traffic alerts with the paring of my Edge530 & Varia RTL515 rear light. The radar alerts me of traffic behind me, how many and how close. This is a must have for any road rider.
1. The beep sound is too low volume to hear when ride fast. 2. Too many clicks to stop a course navigation.
