I have always been a Garmin guy and love the products! I've been riding for 10+ years and this only the second bike computer I've purchased - and don't get me wrong the first one is still kicking on my trainer bike! No matter your skill level it is always nice to have not just your metrics to track but excellent navigation. So if you aren't sure, this is me telling you to get it and it will last you a long time!
Extremely helpful to have turn-by-turn directions on the bike. The Garmin Edge helped me stop looking at physical cue sheets every 5 minutes! The only drawback is the rerouting logic. Sometimes if I get off course and then back on course, it gets confused for a bit.
The 530 was a replacement for my lost 520, which I was totally happy with. Add to that, the "Grit, Flow, and Jump" features, and it makes for all the informational analytics I need. It also works great with my Wahoo trainer!
Great all-around kit. Easy installation, only gripe is with the setup, as the Bluetooth installation was a bit finicky to get working. Once everything was setup I never had a problem.
I used it for about 18 Months. It is a great gadget. It greatest helps is on climbs, when I was using a course it keeps me on track about the ascension. Having 10 field in real time is also great. BUT... while on bikepacking countest, or just on tours the Edge 530 turns off and than back on again. No too often but enough to give one a short anxiety kick when in middle of nowhere... a forrest in the middle of Transylvania, where I live...
