Full featured cycling computer.

My second Garmin edge. Going from the Edge 25 which is now on my spare bike to the Edge 530 on my everyday bike. The Edge 530 is extremely customizable, with the connect app you have all the information you need to improve your training. From Strava to indoor Zwift sessions when paired with the Garmin speed and cadence sensors it’s everything I need. Very happy with this purchase.

Great tool for Riding

The edge 530 is a great tool to have for riding in the streets.
It connects to everything Garmin makes. I use the 530 with my Varia RTL 515 car detector, which is the best protections while riding. I also use it with my Vivo Active 3 watch which lets me my heart rate. I highly recommend all of these items.

Good features but set up was less than ideal

Still learning but now that it is set up well it seems great. Wish you could do more from the device in terms of getting routes easily. Disappointed that I have to use the website vs the phone to get the routes down to my device.

I bought my 530 a little over a month ago, and I’ve been having fun with it ever since. It’s another excuse to go and ride. It’s easy to use, easy to read and I like the fact that I can put widgets on it.

Huge improvement over the Garmin 520 (previous generation)

The Garmin Edge 530 is responsive, and the battery life is excellent. New out of the box, even with multiple Bluetooth and ANT+ sensors connected, a one hour ride may only deplete the head unit's battery by 5%, even with brightness at 10%. In my experience, it is not necessary to have the screen backlit when riding in the daylight. Buttons are also responsive but also give you enough feedback when you press them, and the unit is easy to operate with gloves on. Cold weather performance and water resistance is great.
Maps work well, with turn-by-turn directions still a little weak. If you miss your turn, it will attempt to "recalculate" the route but this often results in the Edge 530 recommending you to make a u-turn instead.
