Functional, simple and reliable. the Edge 530 does exactly what you want out of a cycling computer. With seamless integration to the app and quick route uploads it couldn't be easier. Only wish it had USB C (new ones do)
I have always thought that Garmin produced great products but the Edge 530 has changed my mind! The Edge 530 has features that I don't want and there is no way to turn them off. For example, the virtual partner. I have no need to race the virtual partner but there is no way to turn it off. Another usless feature (for me) is the heat acclimation (which is always wrong).
Just recently my Edge 530 will not automatically sync. And, when I manually start the sync, it takes 20 minutes. I have search and searched and can't find a solution.
Today the Edge 530 would not connect to my phone. I had to pair it again to make it work.
Finally, Garmin should make products that allow the consumer to replace the battery. I had an Edge 520 Plus that would not hold a charge for long so I upgraded to the Edge 530.

Thank you for your review and experience with the Edge 530. We would like to discuss this further over email. If you would please email us at product.support@garmin.com.
Love my 530 especially the crash detect and phone an emergancy contact. But every 3rd ride or so it fails to connect to my phone. The only fix I have found is to delete the blue tooth connections on my phone, forget the phone on the 530, remove the 530 from connect app and add it all back. This is a total pain to do as you are heading off on a ride and notice it didn’t connect.

Great cycling computer- Fixed bar mount that comes with the computer is super nice and sturdy. More accurate then my other tracking methods (cell phone / smart watch) Love the feature that counts jumps and tracks airtime- super fun to look at after a ride! I'd have given it a 10 if the UI was a bit more intuitive
I purchased this as mostly a tracker for my rides and data collection, and display. I've used it a few times as a navigation, it works very well on well defined roads and paths. It does get confused when roads are close together or non-typical intersections. The setup of some of the screens, and fields is a bit finicky and can be a learning curve to use. All in all it does really well for what I use it for.
