I'm dumb and left my old one on the roof of my car. Setting up the replacement was super easy, I only had to customized the menus again. Overall, easy to go from one garmin unit to a new one. I'm impressed by that.
I bought the EDGE 530 and use for a couple of days in my bike. First is not friendly to operate and second to sync with my iPhone was a headache. The troubleshoot help but need to tru many times to finally sync with the iphone and the connect app then after any ride is not easy to save the ride need to move from few display to save the ride in your device any way just a few observation yo help other customer or help to Garmin improve the SW

I've had this item for 500 miles, and overall it's been a game-changer for my riding. I've enjoyed having the data and using it for navigation.
The Cons: My scroll buttons are pretty iffy and seem to be losing their integrity, they feel pretty cheap and feel could give up on me at any moment. Other than that it's a solid device and great battery power. The other Con is the Garmin Connect UI is not great, but it works. It feels very enterprisey and outdated.
I have not used this on a bikepacking trip which was the intended use. I will update once that happens.
Honestly changed the way I bike. I used to leave with a distinct idea of route, and with a Garmin watch for workout stats and to control how I train but having a map and my training tools in a more accurate settings have made moving and exploring a new city a lot less daunting.
The Garmin Edge 530 is so easy to use and does everything I expected it to do, and then some. I have been very impressed at its ease of use and how fast it is, if I draw up a route I want to ride on strava as soon as I turn the garmin on it is loaded and ready to go.
This may not have all the features of the higher-end models, but buttons are nice for those who are wearing gloves, and I've never found myself lacking for anything on any ride ever. Mapping and routing is so much better than competitors, and it's so easy to adjust the display on the fly. Really love the entire Garmin ecosystem.
