Great Bike Computer

New to mountain biking and getting back into road cycling, so this is a great entry bike computer. Does all the basics & easy to use. Great battery life. Very happy with it. Like that I can respond to text messages from here, too.
I chose the 530 because it doesn't have touch screen. I have had trouble with touchscreens in the rain. It does what I need in small package. I just wish there was a bundle with a mtb mount and sensors.
Just sent my new Garmin 530 back ,.. the sound for the radar when a car approached was not audible. Perhaps the 540 will be better.

Takes a bit to figure out with all the buttons, but it's accurate and does the trick for me! I might recommend the touch-screen version because using several buttons to navigate can be a bit obnoxious.
I use my 530 for mountain biking, commuting, and on my trainer. It works really well for all 3 of these applications. MTB: Lots of nice features. I got it primarily for riding unfamiliar trails. The maps work well and can get you where you want to go. It is fun to have the different mtb metrics, especially the jumps. Commuting: When I select commute I have it auto start so I just turn it on and ride to work. You can have different data set up for each profile and that is really nice. Trainer: I was able to load my workouts onto it and they work just as expected. There are a lot of features that this device offers. I wanted it for the maps and GPS and have not been disappointed. It starts up quickly and the GPS has worked really well even in the trees, big improvement over my Edge 500. The size is not too big and the screen is big enough to show all of the info that I want to see while riding. I also have the speed and cadence sensors but use a Wahoo HRM and all three are easy to pair.
I got this at Christmas - device froze a couple of times when learning to use it but managed to set it up, signed up to Komoot but never attached it to my bike. 4 months later and warm weather so i got it out and the device was flat so I changed it but would not turn on, just got the garmin logo and grey screen. Managed to do a factory reset, re paired with the connect app and did a firmware update. Froze again. Managed to get it to restart and “a ride” was started - 15 mins later had done nearly 1km Which is pretty impressive for an armchair. Not able to stoop or pause the ride and distance still increasing an managed to turn it off. Frozen again, device restarts if i hold the power long enough but just get the garmin logo and a grey screen. Can’t actually turn it off- just restarts and back to the grey screen.
Can’t return as not got the packaging and its been too long. Will now try garmin warranty service so anticipating that to be equally joyous. I had reservations as the reviews were not great - devices freezing etc and regret it. Total wast of money and my time. Save yourself the heartache and avoid. Would give a no star review if it let me
