Easy Install, Great Look
on April 27, 2018

The look and feel of the Graco Sequence 65 is just want I wanted for our family car (GMC Acadia with middle bucket seats). We installed this rear-facing for our 30lbs, 2.5 year old. It has a streamlined design, so it doesn't stick out over the seat and looks very clean. The install was quick with the LATCH system, and it was easy to adjust for our daughter's preferred recline and height (took out infant insert, used extended position crotch buckle, and clicked up the headrest a few notches for height/shoulder straps that hit under the top of her shoulders - with one hand, I might add!). The material feels slightly foamy and soft to the touch (and machine washable!). I don't think it will snag or cause any issues rubbing against fabrics that she's wearing. Our daughter loves it - especially the two cup holders that she can actually reach (an issue we'd had in the past). She was all smiles once she was buckled in. The chest clip is a little tricky only because my husband and I are both left handed, and you squeeze/release with the right side of the buckle, but it's definitely not a deterrent (we have another Graco seat with the same clip). The best thing is the ease of tightening/loosening the belt. We have another seat that is almost impossible to tighten once our daughter is clipped in, but this one tightens very easily. No issues getting her secure. I also like that the release button is covered with a flap of material, which not only adds to the clean look but isn't seen by our daughter as she loves to push any and every button she sees! Overall, this is a fantastic car seat and great value for the price, and I would definitely recommend it! Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this car seat! It's a great addition that I feel safe having my daughter use on a daily basis.

Great Car Seat
on April 27, 2018
Posted by: lms22
I was given this car seat to try as a part of the weeSpring Parent Panel and I am happily impressed. Having used car seats for nearly 5 years this was our first experience with Graco, after hearing positive things from other parents about their car seats I was anxious to try it out. I currently have one child front facing and one rear facing and wanted to try it both ways but after trying it on my oldest son (ff) first he didn't want to share it.
My first impressions were that the color was really pretty, my son is in a purple phase so he loved it too. It is very user friendly, after reading through the manual I felt I had a good grasp on everything I needed to know to install and use the seat correctly.
To help give more detail below is a list of Pros and Cons for my review of this seat.
Pros:
The seat seemed pretty lightweight and easy to work with and is aesthetically pleasing
The seat is easy to install which is really helpful
The markings on the outside of the seat for recline, properly installing the seat, belt paths, etc. were very clear and super helpful. I didn't have to wonder if it was installed correctly.
I love the easy to adjust harness height
I like how sturdy the shell is, it doesn't seem like it will fall apart or get out of place after using the seat for months and my son says the seat is very comfortable.
We rear face for a long time so it is great that it goes to 40 lbs rear facing
The 2 built-in cup holders are a nice added touch
Cons:
I like that the seat can rear face up to 40lbs (as mentioned above) but other seats have a maximum height and since we tend to max that out first (smaller kids) it would be helpful to know if this seat had a maximum height in addition to the weight. It wasn't listed anywhere on the manual.
There is an infant positioning pillow included and it never says at what weight that should be removed, it is helpful to me when that is made clear.
The cup holders are great (again, mentioned above) but I can't seem to get them to secure all the way in and didn't find much instruction on that in the manual.
The chest harness strap cushions are a little small and my son complains about it hurting his neck when I loosen the straps to get him out of the seat.
The chest harness buckle is a little hard to release, probably great for a little who tries to escape but not so great for a 4 year old trying to learn to do it himself. This could get a little easier with use though.
Overall I really like this seat and would absolutely purchase another one and recommend it to a friend. The quality is great, it is easy to use and feels very safe/secure and my son is really happy with it.

Good quality, just needs some small tweaks

I received this carseat to try as part of the WeeSpring Parent Panel. Overall, this is a pretty good carseat, with not a whole lot of bells and whistles. It was extremely easy to put in the vehicle, the directions were very helpful and easy to understand, and the headrest height was easy to adjust as was the recline positions. There are 2 cupholders that don't stick out too much, and width-wise the carseat does not overflow into the seat next to it. Material is soft and enough room for child.
Things I think that could be improved would be:
1) the latch system. I have used 2 different latch systems, connector with a hook and the push-in type connector. This one has the connector with a hook. Once it is in the car it is usually fine, but I have had this part bend on me before in previous carseats and have found the push-in type connector is just soo much easier to use, especially if you need to take the carseat out at any point and then put it back in.
2) the button to release the harness straps. This is the button that is on the bottom of the carseat that has the strap that you pull to tighten the harness straps or releases them. In this carseat, you have to push the button down, which to me is counter intuitive. When I go to take my child out, my instinct is find the button and push up to release. Seems menial, but even now when I go to take my child out, I find myself pushing up on the bottom of the carseat, before I realize I have to push down.
3) the space remaining between my child's head and the top of the headrest. I am not sure why, but it seems like there is quite a bit of space, more so than other Graco's I have owned. Easily a good 5 inches or more. Imagine as my child gets taller, this could obstruct the rear-view window pretty substantially.
4) the level indicator. I normally like these indicators, but the location (on the upper part of the seat) and size (maybe 2 inches) made it not as useful. We didn't even look at it when installing the car seat, because I didn't realize it was there until later. Maybe lower down on the seat where the recline positions are would be more helpful.
The things above are by no means deal breakers, but seem such easy fixes to really make this an even better carseat.

Great features for a great price!

As a mother of two toddlers, I have gone through several different car seats from fairly expensive to a budget car seat, and this is a great middle of the road option. It has some really nice features that my more budget car seat doesn't have and while it may not feel quite as solid as our high end car seat it's a pretty great seat overall.

First-off, when installing the car seat the manual was actually pretty straightforward and color coded for forward facing vs rear facing instructions, which I really appreciated. It meant less flipping around trying to find what I wanted. The seat comes with the seat belts and latch connectors in place for a rear-facing infant, but it was not too hard to switch to forward facing for my 2 year old. So the Simply Safe Adjust Harness makes adjusting the height of the shoulder straps and headrest SUPER easy. You simply pull up on the grey handle and it adjusts the straps to exactly where you want them to be. No rethreading necessary, which is amazing! Moving the latch connector belt to the forward facing position does require you to take the seat cover off, but then you slide it along the bar inside that holds it in place and you're done. The actual connectors are easy enough to use, they have an audible click to know you got them in. The recline has an easy to read level indicator and another grey handle that easily allows the seat to go up or down to the recline desired. No under the car seat towels necessary to make it level like with our cheaper seat. Thank goodness.

As I have already mentioned, my two-year old daughter uses this car seat and she is currently being potty trained. So I have already had the pleasure of washing the car seat cover. The cover isn't super easy to get off, in my opinion, but it could be worse. It does have multiple pieces so I didn't have to wash the head rest cover as well, but it does take some pulling and wrenching to get the cover on and off. This is probably my least favorite part in using a car seat, washing car seat covers, but it's kind of inevitable.

As far as other features go, I love that this seat has two built in cup holders! Why don't ALL car seats have built in cup holders!?! There's a spot for a water bottle AND a snack. They're fantastic! And lastly, as someone who has hauled carseats through the airport on many occasions, this seat is not too bad weight wise. It's a solid seat so I feel safe putting my child in it in the car but it also won't break your back getting the car seat into/around the airport if you have to.

Overall, I would recommend this car seat. Thank you weeSpring Parent Panel for giving me this car seat! I love it!

Love this car seat!

Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with this car seat. I was offered the opportunity to review this car seat right around the time we needed to transition my baby into a convertible car seat.
My firstborn baby boy will be 5 months old in about a week. We received this car seat last month and I’m sooo thankful because it came at the perfect time! My little boy is almost 16 lb and a wiggle worm so it is getting really difficult to carry him in and out of the car using an infant car seat. He also has a long torso so his upper body was dangerously close to the upper portion of the car seat.
I love that this car seat is super easy to install and is lightweight. It doesn’t take up much room in our Honda Accord, which means I’m able to fill up our car with more stuff! We go visit my parents about 1 ½ hours away every week and usually stay for a few days at a time. Getting a minivan is in our near future but a little out of our budget, so in the meantime, we have to work with what we have. Having a convertible car seat that is compact like this allows us to continue using this car for our weekly visits.
We had to adjust the bar was a bit because my baby is a little chunky. He has a belly, so being able to easily adjust the harness makes my life much much easier. I feel safe with the 5 point restraint and know I can depend on this car seat to keep my baby boy safe.
I personally did not install the car seat because my hubby is the handy one haha. He said he was able to install it with ease and would be able to take it in and out if needed! The latch system makes it easy to install and, again, makes us confident that our baby is safe. We used the level indicator to make sure it was properly installed.
I have not tried to wash the seat cover yet because it’s still pretty clean after a month of use. At this point, the only thing that is on there is a whole lot of drool! I do love that I have the option to machine wash so that I can just throw it in my washing machine with little effort! That frees up time in my busy schedule!
Lastly, my baby has not used the cup holder because he does not drink out of a cup! I have used it easily though. I love knowing I don’t have to give up any of my cup holders when he is able to drink out of a supply cup!
Honestly, I love graco products so much. I’m satisfied with every graco product I own. We have a graco 4ever car seat in our other car, a blossom high chair, and my family has been using your products for decades. They are cost-efficient, look great, and have kept my family safe for many years. I will continue to use graco for decades to come and will continue recommending them to all my friends and family!

My granddaughter needed a bigger car seat. I choose this one for the special headrest and harness features. It fits great in my truck. She will still have lots of room to grow when we need to face her forward.
