Good, but terrible parking mode.

For the price you get a pretty acceptable quality. In daylight conditions you're able to capture license plates several meters away. Make sure you adjust your exposure level, my vehicle had stock HID bulbs and was blanking out licence plates of vehicles right in front of me during night time. The detachable built-in screen is handy when reviewing footage on the go or quickly changing settings. The biggest downside is the parking mode being too sensitive, it triggers when just opening the car door, and permanently saves a 30sec file or longer if it continues detecting movement. Over time these locked files can quickly add up and if you're not formating you're card frequently it can burn out your microSD card. It's a feature that should be standard for dashcams and when you're forced to turn it off, lowers the benefit of the dashcam. Nextbase is aware of this issue on more premium models and have issued an update. But for the 222 as of this review they have not. Buy it on sale when it's $100 w/ the free promotional microSD card. It's an absolute steal at that price.

For the price paid, the Nextbase 222 does everything expected for a dash cam and more!! Crisp and clear day and night time videos, easy operation and quality built device make for an outstanding buy!!

Doesn't connect to your phone, and the only way to get a play back is to hook it up to your computer or take the micro SD card out and put it on your computer,.

I would skip this product as it constantly freezes when it is turned on (when I start my car). It stays stuck on the blue Nextbase screen and turning it off and on doesn't fix it. Neither does resetting it. It's basically useless because I can't get it to work half the time anyway. I've reached out to customer case regarding this issue and I was told to reformat it using their software and when I would enter the camera number it doesn't recognize it.

Very happy with this purchase. This Nextbase 222 dash cam is small but yields great videos. The optional fuse-tap power connector made the power hookup easy. The only challenge was finding a good spot for the ground connector which has nothing to do with this product, just how newer cars have the lower dash so completely enclosed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice picture poor mounting

Over all gives a great picture, but here is the caveat the mount sucks!!. If you have a more right angle windshield OR less of an angle the mount will not allow the camera to get to the proper angle so one is not just shooting mainly blue sky!! only way to mount it was ON my rear view mirror. Not behind but ON the front of the mirror. I own a 2013 4 Runner and because of the mount I would not recommend for a jeep or such vehicle that has closer to a 90 degree windshield!! I think for a car or vehicle with more of a slopped windshield the mount may be OK

Terrible Products

I now have two Nextbase products. Both have failed miserably. I had a 322 and the screen came off the unit. worked good, but the screen is just hanging there and Nextbase says unless you have a copy of the receipt we won't even look at it or even consider looking at. I guess poor workmanship is just standard with Nextbase.
I then purchased a 222 for my wifes vehicle. The suction cup NEVER worked from day one no matter what i tried and no matter what window I tried to put it on.(even tried the house window just to see) Giving up on Nextbase because they just don't seem to care about quality and functionality. If I could give it negative stars I would.

No SD Card and Case Included

There was a promotion going on that said a 32 GB SD card and travelling case would be included with the dashcam but did not come with it.
