No issues with 14 inch Macbook Pro
on July 18, 2022

No issues with 2021 14 inch Macbook Pro...
Pros: Charges Laptop, powers 2x Displayport 1440p monitors @75hertz, 1 GB ethernet, and 1 USB port used for external webcam. Completely silent, no coil whine or fan noise (Unlike model # DP3DOCK2DPPD)
Cons/opinions: -Provided thunderbolt cable really short -Slides around when you have good cable management due to the dock not having much weight -Not enough USB A ports (only 2) -Would have been nice to have the Thunderbolt connector was on the back instead of front. (To connect to laptop). Makes my setup look messy. I would have bought another TB3 dock that had this, but as of July 2022, all other Startech docks are back ordered.

Drivers won't install
on September 20, 2019
Posted by: anne1704
Work issued this dock for my Macbook Pro running Mojave 10.14.6. When trying to install the drivers I get the message "this driver can't be installed because your version of macOS is too new." So I guess I have a new paperweight?
Response from startech.comBy Matt, Customer Support, September 20, 2019
We apologize for any difficulties you're experiencing when installing the drivers for our TB3DK2DHV. This dock is native in macOS 10.14 so it should be plug-and-play without any driver installation needed. If you require any assistance getting this dock working, please contact us directly at www.startech.com/support where our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Don't waste your time. DP no worky!

Tried replacing a Dell WD19TB with the StarTech TB3DK2DHV. After 1.5 hours, 7 cables, and two operating systems, couldn't get the StarTech to work using DisplayPort and two monitors. Only TWICE was I able to get just ONE monitor working. Checked drivers, firmware, settings, cables, verified both monitors set to DP 1.2, to no avail. Plugged the Dell WD19TB back in and BAM! It worked the first time. StarTech usually knocks it out of the park, so rather bummed about this one. Connecting to Windows 10 on Gigabyte Aero 15 XA laptop.

Hello Theo,
It's important to us that our customers have a positive experience with our products and we're sorry to hear that our TB3DK2DHV isn't working for you. This dock should work with the Gigabyte Aero 15 XA as long as it's connected to the Thunderbolt 3 port and we'd be happy to help get this working properly. If you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at www.startech.com/support where our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week to provide support.

Not worked as expected

- VGA signal produces waves on screen at 1920x1200 @60Hz (with the same cable and monitor that works well with other PC) - Mouse and keyboard disconnects intermittently when external SSD requires bandwith + Power delivery works + Build quality
Response from startech.comBy Sam, Customer Support, May 31, 2019
Thank you for your feedback on TB3DK2DHV. We're sorry for the issues you came across with it and hope to help. If you're using a wireless mouse and keyboard, connecting a USB 3 external drive may cause interference with the wireless signal. This is common across all USB 3.0 peripherals and devices that use 2.4GHz wireless signals. To address this problem, you could use something like a simple USB extension cable to move the transceiver further away from the USB port.
We'd like to get some more details about the video issues you've had so we can help provide a fix. Please reach out to our Technical Advisors at www.startech.com/support. We're available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, to provide support.

Simple enough to plug and go. Only issue is that it doesn't power my Mac as advertised. But it's not an inconvenience to plug in the dock and the Mac charger.

It looked so promising
on November 18, 2019

And it looked so promising...
Bought as a trial of a multi platform dock before buying a crate-load to place on drop in workbench spaces for my users to be able to turn up and use screens and ethernet from any USBC Mac/Windows/Linux laptop.
The dual screens are great. But the ethernet port does not work.
Driver from the website complains this OS is too new.
The product pages mentioned it was working under Catalina.
When will drivers be available? Will the drivers be available? Or is the hardware never going to work under 10.15+?
Response from startech.comBy Matt, Customer Support, November 22, 2019
Hello Kenny,
We pride ourselves on our high-quality standards and are sorry to hear about the difficulties you're experiencing with our TB3DK2DHV. This dock is natively supported in macOS 10.14 and 10.15 so no extra drivers are needed. It's possible that macOS may have incorrectly added the Ethernet on the dock as a Thunderbolt Bridge or Thunderbolt adapter. We recommend checking your network preferences, disabling those if you see them and then adding a new interface, ensuring you choose "Thunderbolt Ethernet" and this should allow the dock to work properly again. If you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at www.startech.com/uk/support where our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week to provide support.

Set-up nightmare
on September 13, 2019
Posted by: WillyD73
My company bought this for me in addition to 2 monitors and a laptop with a USB-C port. I can’t find step by step installation instructions anywhere. Who can help me out of this nightmare?
Response from startech.comBy Matt, Customer Support, September 17, 2019
We're sorry to hear about the difficulties you're experiencing with our TB3DK2DHV. As long as your laptop has Thunderbolt 3, it should plug into the single Thunderbolt 3 port on the front of the dock and then everything else plugs into the back. If you require assistance, please feel free to contact us at www.startech.com/support. Our Technical Advisors are available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week to provide support.
