[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The picture quality is really good. However, because of the LCD panel, color and contrast are not good. The specifications are not higher than you think. The GTX 1060 6GB is enough to run. And it's really easy because it has a built-in headset. The sound is great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was absolutely mind blowing for the two hours it was functional. The resolution and overall experience far exceeded my expectations. Many people complain about tracking issues with WMR controllers, but these tracked flawlessly. Text was crisp and clear, which is a problem with many headsets. Unfortunately, the unit failed after a couple of hours of use, and research has led me to believe that I am far from alone in my experience. With the number of failed units that have been returned, it seems to me that HP has had plenty of opportunity to analyze and resolve the intrinsic design defects causing the exceedingly high failure rate. My unit came from the new batch that supposedly addressed these issues, but my experience (and others) proves that it was more of a band-aid, and not a real solution.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've held off until this point to invest in a AAA VR headset and I'm really happy with my decision. The resolution is excellent. You have to really look hard to notice any screen door effect. There is a mural effect on the panels but it's only evident on white backgrounds. Taking is great and the controllers are just fine. Racing, flying, and space Sims are extremely immersive. Games like Skye in VR are awesome too!
I've spent over ten hours trying to get this to work. I kept receiving errors and windows not recognizing the headset plugged in. I bought a USB PCI card and I was able to play the headset for an hour. When I restarted my computer it stopped working and hasn't worked since. I've updated drivers. Windows is up to date. I unplugged the GPU (2070 Super) and plugged it back in. I reinstalled WMR portal and Steam VR. Now the device is dead and the light doesn't every turn on when plugged in.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm using a Smsung Odyseey plus on a 1080ti with i7 9700K cpu. Bought Reverb for it's resolution been working with tech support for 3 weeks. No Luck!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very little screen door effect, more comfortable than rift, waaaaay better picture. Is it worth the price if you have a rift? NOT AT ALL. Its wacky at times and is not as smooth as rift. The hand tracking is bad and the controllers are atrocious. Hang on to your rift if you got one. I only sim in DCS and it's great for seeing objects from a distance. Doesn't play very smooth so you just try and overlook the jitters. I have a 1080ti ftw3 and i7700k so someday I could upgrade and then the headset could be great. Could be my pc so if you don't have at least the same spec's you'll be in for a rough ride but doable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: Better resolution , easier setup Cons: cables are too stiff. Need to make them softer and more flexible.
Top notch specs and half the price of the Index made it 1st choice. Nicely built, not heavy, the cable can be cumbersome but I see no option. Very easy to set up in Windows, should've been as easy on Steam but I never saw that you needed to install 2 pieces: SteamVR & Windows MR for SteamVR, so it took my a while, but its finally working with those games (and movies with a player). I can't complain on performance, most if not all the glitches and problems are in the software, not the hardware; and all can be solved by exiting the "mixed reality". Probably the most difficult part is optimizing the settings. Since Windows scales the 4K image, most programs tend to follow that scaled resolution, except games which don't care about Windows. Anyway for Windows you have to go into settings and set the display to "highest performance", change resolution, and adjust IOD (the default is 62mm, which is good, but I'm trying to go to better). Same for SteamVR, strange that their resolution bar doesn't stop at 2160 (jumps between 2150? and 2162).
