I spent two days scanning specs of different products and the Imageclass is the only one that had all features I wanted. Wireless device with duplex print, duplex scanning, OCR all at a decent speed. My only mistake was I purchased the 741 instead of the 743 by mistake. For some reason 743 does duplex scanning and 741 only does single sided.
The only thing that kind of bugs is the ADF is jam sensitive. Use small stacks for sure :)

Does great at network printing,even from phone. Colors are flat not vibrant but scan image are decently detailed. Biggest Con is the software. It's chaotic mess. Everything should be in an all in one launcher not multiple spots. Big and beefy printer. Potential large learning curve for new people. Wired or wifi setup was easy,I tested both.

Good printing, temperamental and non-functional scanning

The printing function works well, is flexible, and has good quality. I am an IT professional and I still can't get the scanning to work from the PC over IPv4. I can only scan from the console (MF unit itself). There are no instructions that help.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Arrived in perfect shape. Should be moved around by two people but so far managing alone. Recommend you set this up so you can easily get at the back because you will need to open the back to clear paper jams. In a tight space, I am putting it on a turntable to prevent damage to the machine. Paperwork included is not very detailed about the machine and parts. GREAT COLOR PRINTING

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I have now had the Canon MF741Cdw for about 7 days. Though the printer is heavy, unboxing was relatively easy due to the type of open bottom box it arrived in. I was able to get it out of the box and set onto the space where I am keeping it with relative ease by myself.
Set up was not difficult at all. The only complication is that I had to disable my firewall in order for the installer to be able to recognize my computer, but otherwise, the process was simple and I was able to enable my firewall again once the process was completed. It took me about 15 minutes to do the entire setup. I personally find it easier and more convenient to connect the printer to wifi on the actual printer itself using the touchscreen rather than from my computer. There are very easy prompts on the screen to set it up. Note: There is a message about automatic toner replacement and then they ask you to accept an agreement. The agreement you accept is NOT related to the toner at all, so go ahead and accept so you can get through the process
of connecting the wifi, otherwise it won`t finish the wifi setup.

I had to replace an old printer not too long ago and I really haven`t been satisfied with the quality of the laser jet type of printer that I purchased, so I was
very glad to have a chance to test the Canon MF741Cdw. I am an ESL teacher and I print massive amounts of color pictures to show to my non English speaking
students to help them understand the meaning and use of English words and phrases. It is important that these images are clear. My other printer bleeds color and the images just don`t always look that great. Thus far the Canon imageClass printer has superior color. I have not seen Any bleeding yet, though I will need to continue watching over time to see if this happens once the ink/toner begins to get lower. Thus far the colors are really nice and I like that the machine calibrates the color upon setup. I also really love the ease of the paper tray. There was nothing to set up other than removing the red tape and foam.

This machine does require more space than my other printer. I have a very small office space, so the size of this machine is my least favorite feature about this printer however, the trade off seems like it is going to be well worth it since the quality of the color printing is so much better. I have not had this printer long enough to know if the cost will be equal to or less than my other printer but based on my search it seems as though it will be comparable to my other printer.
I really like the touchscreen on this printer. I`m still learning my way around but it`s easy to navigate.The printer makes a bit of noise but, I have not ever had a printer that doesn`t make some noise. This printer is at least comparable to others I have had on the noise front but might even be a bit more quiet, especially because the print speed seems to be faster. This is a favorite feature. At times I need to print something quickly in order to use it and this printer satisfies my needs in this area. By the time I walk into the other room to grab my prints, very often, they are already finished and waiting for me.
Overall this is a Great printer that offers a solid quality of color that suits my business needs!

Easy to use and quick!!

The cannon I received was essentially put together without almost any assembly. The box was huge. Packaged well. The one downside I have come across is that it was extremely heavy. Which is to be expected. Some of the images depict having a second person assist with some steps. Such as lifting part of the packaging and obviously setting it where you want it.
I was able to do all of this by myself. So it is possible. I was able to get it inside and set up in 30 min or less. And I got it hooked up wirelessly to my laptop. It has step by step instructions which are so easy to follow. It comes with a disc you can use instead of reading directions, I didn’t need that or use it.
I was able to print some sheets and copy some other items and it’s pretty quick and the color images are clear and crisp. I am extremely happy with the quality.
I wish it wasn’t quite so heavy and large but it really is efficient. I have the space for it so it has a happy home and I certainly do not plan on moving it any time soon.

Great Multi-Function Device for Personal & Busines

Setup: This printer was very easy to set up, I think it took a total of 5 minutes. It connects easily to a computer via USB and electronically through WiFi.
Printing: The printing is super fast, and a very good quality. I`m impressed with how well the printer handles pictures, presentations and other data. I used it to produce a report for my dissertation, and it handled the figures, data, photos, and text very well. Handles different kinds of paper well, too, cardstock, copy paper, construction paper.
Scanning: The scan quality of this printer is very good quality. I was able to scan not only documents but photos for an electronic presentation that supported printed images, `photo printed` photos, and also objects.
Cons: The weight of the printer, it was very heavy to move from point A to point B--however, the good outweighs the bad as this machine is amazing. Easily replaced my old multi-function device.
I would recommend this to a friend!
