The Gorgeous Deep Black of Space

I am a modestly- educated projector enthusiast--by no means a tekkie. My chief complaints with previous projectors have always been: 1. Sci-fi films or Astronomy documentaries never translating space as a deep black and 2. The lens not adjustable in the direction or increment that I need. This projector solves both of "my" concerns beautifully. I plugged in 2001, then Ridley Scott's "Prometheus," as well as several other space films and documentaries (including lots of Hubble shots) and it just looks gorgeous. Rich, deep blacks--no translation issues. I took several hours carefully adjusting the initial positioning of the image on my "basic" 120 inch screen, to make sure I had 0 Keystone going on. I used the distance guide provided by Epson and got it nailed. Epson really gives this projector a fantastic "super-fine" incremental lens adjustment capability. I'm using the table top method in my completely dark dedicated movie theater, with the projector elevated behind me. Another thing I am really impressed with is how quiet the fan is on this projector--it's probably only two feet behind my head but I really can't hear it. I've only got 50 hours on this projector but so far it is just awesome for my sci-fi and 3D requirements.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best 2020 Purchase!

We bought this in the spring after being quarantined and stuck at home. We had recently purchased a new home and had a new HUGE wall in our living room and wanted a projector that could turn our living room into a theater. Paired with a soundbar and subwoofer it makes you feel like you're in the theater! We cut a hole in the wall and mounted it in the next room back (so we could put it even farther back to get a bigger screen; we're still only about at 200 inches because we can't go back any farther) and smoothed out our wall with mud, (we still need to paint it with the fancy wall paint, but even without it,) the image is great. We haven't used the 3D since our 3D player stopped working and I couldn't get the streaming 4K content to work (could be a user error?) We also have started using it (on a daily basis) on the lower power consumption from the bulb and you don't even really notice the difference. We do amp it up and go full for "movie nights" when we want to make it special and use the 4K. We have used the Wireless adapter, but since we have a Chromecast Ultra, but to get the 4K resolution at 60 fps for that device, we have to be hardwired to the projector instead of using the wireless adapter, but a small price to pay for such an awesome machine. If you do use the wireless adapter it has to be set up so that the signal doesn't get interfered with (so just make sure you have a spot that it can go and people won't walk in front of it). This has been an awesome purchase. It's been great. Definitely a big purchase, but we're saving in $$ from the theater so it is paying for itself. I would Oh, and the bulb life is great. We're home all the time :/ so we have used this for a ton of hours this year (thousands) for school, gaming, Amazon, Netflix, etc and haven't had to change a bulb yet!
I'm adding some pictures, just taken with my cell phone so they're not great, but so you can see what it looks like at home. Again, it looks way better than my dumb phone can take pictures of. I even included one in daylight, since it still looks decent, but at night it is the best!
If you're on the fence and you can afford this, grab it, you won't regret it!
