Great value

I hope I can solve the Live View Fail issue as well as any Blink app issues anyone may be having with their Blink XT2 security cameras.
I purchased my camera 3 days ago and set up was very easy. Everything seemed to work alright when I first tested it out, but then I noticed after I was done adjusting the camera and playing with the settings I started having a lot of issues when using the Blink app. If you have a separate router from your main router/modem (from your internet provider) like I do, you must disable the Wi-Fi on the router/modem or they will interfere with each other. The next step is to ensure that you have FULL bars on both your Camera to Wi-Fi as well as Camera to Sync Module. You will see these settings in your Blink Home Monitoring app. Blink says as long as you have 3 bars you're good. I had full bars on Camera to Sync Module and 3 bars on Camera to Wi-Fi and still had issues. That's when I hooked up a dual band range extender to my Linksys dual band router and mounted my Sync module directly on top of my range extender and placed it on my exterior wall in my Great Room just above my camera which is over my garage door. Now I have full bars for both and the system not only works amazing, but it's so fast. I have my Sync Module connected to the range extenders 2.4 Ghz freq, but I have my phone on my Linksys 5 Ghz Wi-Fi network with no issues. You just have to sync the range extender to your router which has you Wi-Fi enabled, not your router/modem from your internet provider. I know this was a lot to read, but if it solves your issues, I'm glad I took the time to write this novel. Good luck!

Poor battery life.

Purchased this camera after reading positive reviews. Easy to set up and good quality video. I did tweak the settings but not too much. Installed 4 days ago and never had many recordings as it’s put in a low motion area. Today noticed the batteries are almost dead and have to replace them. Far cry from 2 year life. Going to buy a new set of batteries and see if it is an anomaly. If not, it’s going back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Misleading

This product can only work with a 2.4g Wi-Fi. It does not say that in any obvious place, and I wasn’t told that when I bought it. When I tried to get technical support they were next to useless and basically said “buy another router”. I wouldn’t waste my time buying anything from this manufacturer again.

Bought two packs. Set up was easy. I've used it inside so far and have no issues. In all fairness to this review though, I haven't used it outside yet nor have I had to review footage taken.

Skips recording of some movement between clips

Pros
1. Easy setup
2. Good app.
Cons:
1. Just noticed that recording of movement stops after the set time (30 seconds in my settings) although movement continues, so part of the movement is not recorded. I thought that the recording would continue in the next clip, but it did not. This is not good as important parts are not being recorded. This needs to be fixed by Blink. By the way, continuous recording is available in live view mode. But if you are not in live view, you will lose important parts of your security video.
2. The battery lasted 3 days instead of 2 years. I had to buy a plug in adapter for $20 as I don't want to keep changing batteries.

This product was a bit tricky to setup but worth it!
Its inexpensive with no fees and serves it purpose.
You can access the stream easily with the app and it has a mic so you can also hear and speak through it.
Its motion sensor sends clips to the app and stores clip by clip you can delete them yourself save or have them deleted on auto mode 7 days 14 days etc.
Good gift!
