My oldest grandson loves to have ma'am ma dump the shapes out of the roller. He will eventually figure out how this works. He allows me to put the shape up to the correct slot and then he pushes it in. He laughs when he does this.

This was a gift for a 12 month old. So far, she loves to put all the shapes into the hole at the top (the plastic plug can be removed) and dump them all out. She also loves to turn it sideways and roll the cylinder all over the place. She has also been seen chewing on some of the blocks. I love it that as she gets older she'll learn to sort the colors and shapes. Until then, she still gets a lot of play.

To whoever reads this:I'm going to play a game.... If I have a 12 month old baby and I give them a tube of TOXIC commercial grade glue that HAS dried to chew on OR I give them a Melissa and Doug Shape Sorter is there any difference? Any answers? Well......? It's NO! The top and bottom of this shape sorter are made of a wood product called PlyWood, which is made by Using a Commercial grade glue and fixing 4-5 pieces together creating the PlyWood. Now it's "safe" because it is fully cured but would you let your 12 month old chew on dry glue? Me either....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The product is well made, but not appropriate for children who still put things in their mouths. All of the shapes can fit through a toilet paper roll, which makes them a choking hazard.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
