Overall, we are satisfied with the filtering done. It did take about two weeks to rid the brand new unit of a plastic taste and smell to the water. We have not replaced the filters yet, since it has been only 3 months, so we will see if the plastic is from the filters or the plastic housing. It does take awhile to fill a bottle, slow streaming of water. We do not taste any chlorine.
We updated our kitchen fixtures. I felt that with the bronze faucet and a decent rating this was a good value. The downside is the flow rate. You literally can walk away and come back while a pitcher is filling. We are still heavily using the refrigerator system for glasses of water no one has the patience to stand there waiting for this system.
I had a licenced plumber install the unit. The only thing he didnt like about it was the pressure fittings. But for the price range, I think this is the best overall quality hook up you can find. Other units in this price range have even worse fittings for cold hookup, etc. If the fittings were not pressure fittings into the unit itself, I would give this five stars.
My husband is a coffee afficiando (he roasts and grinds the beans himself) and he always says that the best coffee starts with the best water so he had been very happy with the taste and quality that the Aquasana produces.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to clean, Easy to install, Long lasting filter
