Had an older model with a different spout that required you to hold down. The new design with the new faucet valve much better an easier to use, especially for filling large pots. I like the idea of the battery alert. You never can be sure when the filter life has ended. I have not heard it yet so I will see if it works. Directions for the grommets during installation should be outlined or made a little more clear and obvious. I had to uninstall and reinstall after noticing extra parts.
We use the filter for drinking water and it works quite well. The taste is much improved and the flow is adequate. The faucet was designed to install on a completely flat surface on the sink. Ours was slightly concave but with gaskets it installed upright and sturdy.
I would like to have been able to find a template in advance for the installation. I did a poured concrete countertop and ended up having to use two large washers to shore it up. Still looks and works great.
Pros: Clean taste, Easy to clean, Easy to install, Long lasting filter
I have to admit that I never attempted to install it myself but had a plumber do it as we had other things we needed fixed when we moved in. I figured it is going to be used for a long time so the cost for installation will be very low per month we will use it. The water taste is great and it feels good to know that most impurities in the water re gone. We have a child with Crohn´s disease and we like to make sure that he gets no bacteria that triggers a flare up. The pour is relatively slow compared to the tap but that is to be expected since the water needs to go thru the filters. My wife bought a PUR pitcher before we had this filter system installed and I think that water from that taste bad in comparison.
