Test fail by digital water quality TDS tester

According to the reviews, I thought the Aquasana filter works. But when I test the filtered water with my newly acquired Water Quality Tester, the reading from Brita pitcher filter is the same as this EXPENSIVE filter system with a reading of 260+ For your reference, my tap water is 300 before filter. My water is 10+% cleaner but not what they claim 96% reduction! Disappointing!!!

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are the total amount of mobile charged ions, including minerals, salts or metals dissolved in a given volume of water, expressed in units of mg per unit volume of water (mg/L), also referred to as parts per million (ppm).
Aquasana water filters are not designed to reduce the TDS in your water. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals in your water, but are not an accurate measurement for contamination.
Aquasana drinking systems remove harmful TDS, like dissolved lead, but because our selective filtration leave in calcium, magnesium and potassium, and minerals are dissolved solids, there will still be a measurable amount of TDS in our filtered water. TDS can also increase during the Potassium Ion Exchange Process. In order to remove lead and mercury, the Aquasana Infiltration system has to exchange it for potassium. For every lead Ion removed, two potassium ions are added to the water. So the TDS reading has nothing to do with the chemicals that are being removed. which you can see here:
I've been using Aquasana filters since 2010 and gave never looked away. I trust the science.
Pros: No odor, Clean taste, Long lasting filter, Good Water Flow, Durable, Easy to install

This filtration system takes many different kinds of contaminants out of our water and at an affordable price. We did not have to redo the plumbing of the sink.
Pros: Easy to clean, No odor, Clean taste, Long lasting filter, Good Water Flow, Durable, Easy to install
