I think for most household use the automatic replacement of cartridges every 6 months is too soon. The electronic time to change sensor on my unit never sounds.... we must be changing sooner that necessary.

My wife and I have a Veterinary Clinic and we have seen numerous animals - esp kidney and liver dogs - experience improved blood values after the owners switch to bottled or home filtered water. Our critters are literally the canaries in the coal mines!! We ALWAYS recommend Aquasana!! Our small town (and I think most towns) experiences variations in chlorine and other micro contaminants from time to time. Of course they won't admit it but anecdotally we see groupings of variations....and not only because of extra moisture in the soil - which can lift giardia out of the ground. Over the years I've used different filters from Brita to NSA and have been a loyal Aquasana person for about eight years now.
