Overall, the Aquasana filter is a great product. It delivers what it professes; clean tasting water and much better water quality. My wife and I value our family's health and feel that Aquasana gives us good bang for our bucks. We also upgraded our system to include the small pre-filter as we have a lot of silt in our water; we live in Southern New Jersey (a beach area.) After installing the small pre-filter we couldn't believe the difference in the taste of our water. The water tasted much better after installing the two stage filter but, after installing the pre-filter it really made a great difference in how much water our family consumes now. We usually change the small pre-filter every three weeks because of the silt in our water supply. We can't think of anything negative to say. I (Dan) always talk to people in our area about how good our Aquasana filters are. It amazes me how little people think about their own and their families health. Our family is very rarely sick anymore since using Aquasana filters, while a lot of people around us are always getting sick. Thank You Aquasana!

The water that comes from these filters rivals the water coming from reverse osmosis. I like them better than the reverse osmosis type because they are portable. I move like once a year so reverse osmosis filters are not easy to move around. These water filters last much longer than the recommended 6 months. I have used them for a year and the water quality was still great. The only complaint I have is that it is not durable. The housing and faucet attachment start leaking water after the first filter change. Then it gets worse as time goes by. I just got a new replacement through water for life program. Hopefully these parts will last longer than the previous ones.

We have used the countertop system for four years now and have been very satisfied with its quality and performance. Especially valuable has been the "Water 4 Life" arrangement. We once had to replace the hose leading to the faucet, and at another time, the plastic shell holding the filters cracked. But both times we got free or minimal cost replacements. It is also convenient to immediately write a check for a new set of filters that will arrive six months later in the mail. The company is very reliable about this. My ONLY complaint is that the rubber gaskets sometimes leak. This used to be a big problem when we first got the system, but design improvements have now made this minimal. Still, it is annoying to put in a new set of filters and carefully screw on the caps to find that there is a little bit leaking, or even some leaking 2-3 days after I replaced the filters. Once I've adjusted them, however, the gaskets are usually fine until six months later when I put in the new set of filters. Nevertheless, we are still pleased with the system, the quality of water, and the convenience of only having to replace the filters every six months. In my opinion, it is better and more efficient than Brita.

From what I can tell these clean the water just fine although you do need to run a few gallons through to sort of rince them first. And you can do that all in one shot you need to turn it on for a min or so then turn it off for a min to settle then do that again until the water runs clear. Once you do all that it filters fine until your next replacement comes due. The replacement process is find of annoying. I understand its under the sink and there isn't a ton of room to work there but that's by design tor an under cabinant filter so not a negative. The filter comes off of the stand easy enough. Replacing the cartridges however is a lot more difficult.without fail every time one of the cartridges comes out with ease but the other one always sticks in with the seals at the bottom. I often have to turn the unit upside down and twist that cartridge back-and-forth several times to free it and remove it from the body. Sometimes some light bagging is even required to remove it. The new cartridges always slip in with ease.
