I live in California where we have hard tap water. I used a Brita pitcher before we switched to this filtering system. I was tired of seeing some of the black bits of carbon coming out of those Brita systems in my water and having to refill my pitcher every time I made a pour. Also, the water never tasted great. I could still taste the chlorine and chemicals that were still in the water. Aquasana's filters resolved all my problems! This is some of the cleanest tasting water you can get. Since we are renters, we are limited to using the countertop filtration system. I can't wait to become a home owner cause I would totally consider installing an Aquasana filtering system for the whole entire house! Yes, they are that good! The only complaint I have is that the filter's spout produces a very small stream so it will take a while to fill up pitchers and/or pots of water.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to clean, Easy to install, Long lasting filter
I was tempted to upgrade but turns out the new housing does not affect quality of the filter and the new filters are similar to to the old. So I passed the offer. The best thing is I trust that my filtered water is good.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to install
Cons: Not durable, Uses Lots of Replacement Filters
it is a great product, but should consider O ring replacement problem. Each time, i re-assembled the filter, it started to leak except the first time. I think it's the O ring problem which need to be replaced also.
I have to waste so much water because it runs many seconds after it's turned off. Never had a system before that didn't alert you some way as to when to replace the filter. Some families use much less or more water than others. I will replace the system when I can afford to.
