We use these filters to clean up the nasty water our trailer park provides on tap. The water tastes earthy and smells fishy without them. We recently had a leak in the filter housing, which caused the water to start tasting rather bad, but on receiving a replacement filter housing and filter set, it went back to being drinkable again.
Pros: Clean taste, Durable, Easy to clean, Easy to install
I far prefer this over a pitcher style reservoir like the britta which you need to fill and then let filter, then keep in the fridge, getting the water directly from the tap is nice. The filters last a while and according to the reviews I read this was the highest quality filter in terms of it's effectiveness at removing contaminants and the chlorine or similar cleaners used to cleanse town water. The only con is you might have to go to the hardware store to find what size adapter you will need to go from the mounting hardware that comes with this product to your faucet. Once I knew what the appropriate adapter would be I was only able to find it online.
Pros: Clean taste, Hassle Free Use, Long lasting filter
I use the product for all my drinking and cooking; I also use it when watering my plants. If unfiltered, my water contains teeny black specks that tend to collect in sink / toilet etc. It also tastes pretty bad. The powers that be assure us that it is within acceptable limits, but I don't believe any amount of gunk in my water is acceptable! The Aquasana runs circles around the Brita filter I used to use!!
I have been using the Aquasana countertop for 3 years and, overall, am happy enough that I wouldn't switch. The filters are easy to change and the water quality is excellent. Although I am not a chemist, the difference between undrinkable tap water and Aquasana filtered water is apparent. The only negatives I would give are the slowing flow rate after about 4 months of average use. This would make the cost of filters a little on the high side, but still reasonable. And, after drinking filtered water, it's impossible to go back to tap water and cheaper "mass-marketed" products are just junk (in my opinion). Aquasana is a top-rate home water filter and I would recommend it without reservation.
Pros: Clean taste, Easy to clean, Easy to install
Cons: Leaking An Issue, Slow pour, Uses Lots of Replacement Filters
