When the water here developed an unpleasant odor and started tasting yucky, we became seriously concerned about lead (and other unwanted chemicals) in the water because the pipes here are older. We ordered the Aquasana, my husband installed it, and the water now tastes great. We have black appliances in our kitchen so the black filter fit with our decor. It's sleek and modern looking and we've had no problems with leaking or insufficient capacity.

I just moved into a new apartment in Chicago, built in the 1930s. While it's been recently renovated, I doubted the pipes were all replaced and knew I should filter my drinking & cooking water. Aquasana completely blows away every other system I found, in terms of capability! When I installed my countertop unit (which took all of 2 minutes), there were small oxidized particles in the aerator cap for the kitchen sink - I was immediately glad I made the purchase. On black granite counters, the black model I have almost vanishes from sight, which is great. It's easy to use, and the water tastes great!
