Horrible design, incredibly hard to swap filters

I've had this filter for almost ten years now, and the design has not changed since. I like the quality is water, however, prepare to lose your knuckles when the time to swap filters comes. After six months of use, caps get stuck, and it will be a nightmare to open them. Don't believe the customer support, recommending to use a wrench. It won't work.
Since 1-inch bezel surrounds the filter, there is not enough space to grip the cap tightly. You can't use a socket since the connecting flow tubes are almost impossible to detach and will further complicate the process. If you somehow manage to grip the cap securely with a wrench key, the plastic will simply crumble once you apply the pleasure.
I can't even explain how many times I've had my fingers all scratched to blood. Customer service will advise you to make sure to apply enough oil prior sealing the filter - IT WON'T HELP. I've had to order a replacement at least three times because the cap got stuck completely.
So, bottom line - very affordable filter, produces good quality of water; however, the design and functionality are HORRIBLE. Mark my words, you will hate it when time to change filters comes.
Last time was my final time using it, and I'm researching a purchase an under the counter, professional filter, although I know it will be more expensive. I have no more patience dealing with this product.

Great product!

Easy process changing the filters. My only problem was the o-rings falling out and me not noticing. Once I reinstalled them everything was fine.
Pros: Clean taste, Easy to install
Cons: Filters need replacing too often

The Claryum filters are one of the few, maybe even the only filters that capture PFOS & PFAS. That is an opportunity to remove the contaminates from your cooking and drinking water while the water treatment world tries to figure out how to remove these from drinking water for the general population.
In our current Stage 4 drought conditions, our drinking water has taken on a less than appealing yellow taint - tests show it is from iron. Public utilities are suffering negative PR while they try to determine how to clear up the water. We have not seen any discoloration on the output of our countertop unit with Claryum filters.
Pros: Easy to clean, No odor, Clean taste, Long lasting filter, Durable, Easy to install
Cons: Slow pour

Filters hard to replace and broke

My unit is currently in a bowl because it's slowly leaking water out of the bottom. It broke after the 2nd filter replacement. The filters are really difficult to replace too. My husband would end up with bloody knuckles everytime.
The water does taste great. Aquasana just needs to redesign.
Pros: Clean taste, Long lasting filter, Good Water Flow, Easy to install
Cons: Not durable

Absolutely way above my expectations

Installation simple, Tasted water after running water for 10 minutes water never tasted better. Tasted exactly the way I wanted. No foul taste or smell. Searched online till I found this AQ4000. Compared it to practicly all other countertop water filters and decided on the AQ4000 because it appeared to be the best filter and the best buy. Very happy I purchased it, it works Fantastically.
Pros: No odor, Clean taste, Good Water Flow, Durable, Nice faucet, Easy to install

Filters are easy to exchange. - Use small shelf

We use a 17 mm socket wrench to exchange the filters. This type of wrench is usually found in the tool kit of the car. If there is none, chances are that one of your neighbors has one. It makes exchanging the filters a breeze. Also, we don't move the countertop filter much since we have a small shelf for it (12" W x 5" D x 5" H), which sits on the countertop between the dish rack and the wall. In this way the unit is 'out of the way', and this makes cleaning the sink and countertop so much easier.
