The filters are substantial and appreciate not having a monthly charge but a once every 6 months replacement sent to me automatically. I have an above the sink filter system. The cons are small- the filters need the use of a socket wrench to be adequately tightened and the switch to filter has calcium deposits within it so it has to be switched off manually. The pros of having a good filter far outweigh the cons.
Pros: Durable, Long lasting filter
Cons: Difficult to install

Water for life program auto ships the great filters every 6 months, and I say great because there is no taste to the water with these cartridges, which is what water should taste like.
