Nice Fit and Finish, Clean Taste, Still Hard

The water has a great clean taste to it. Definitely removes the chlorine flavor from the regular tap. Installation was no problem, all parts and pieces necessary for installation were included with the product. Even a novice DIYer could get that right. I added plumbers' tape at all connections just to be sure everything stayed watertight. The only reason I can't give this product 5 stars is because when you test the water for its PPM it still measures out as being very hard. I understand this product is not necessarily designed to eliminate hard water, but with that many things still remaining in it (its literally a few PPM lower than the regular tap) it leaves you wondering what it does filter? This may be my own ignorance of how these things work, or it should be doing a better job. Not sure? Maybe the company can respond here to educate people about what this product really cleans your water from. Because of these unknowns, I can only give this product a 3 of 5.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify. TDS meters measure the total dissolved solids in water—which can include both beneficial minerals and unwanted contaminants. When contaminants are removed through filtration, the levels of certain minerals may increase, which can sometimes result in a TDS reading that is the same or even higher than before. We understand this can be confusing, and we encourage you to visit our Blog https://www.aquasana.com/info.html for more in-depth articles that explain how TDS meters work and what their readings really mean. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
