Not Worth It

I bought this about a month ago to add to a few stainless steel pans I already owned. I’ve been using stainless steel for years with no issues but this set not only shows discoloration after only a month of use but most food sticks. Waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that you have experienced with your Calphalon Classic Stainless Steel 10-Pc. Cookware Set. Stainless steel requires oil or butter to prevent the food from sticking to the pan as it doesn't have a nonstick coating. Regarding the discoloration, you should be able to restore the stainless steel by washing the pan with Bar Keepers Friend cleanser and a nylon sponge or soft bristle brush. Love my pans!

Love the heat distribution, and covers. All of the pieces are equal quality. Bug step up from my old set.
I am not having an issue with cleaning. I suppose im not afraid of butter... i mean you say alot and mean half a tablespoon at best ...i mean half a stick.
Anyway although i am not scared of butter...this is not exclusive to this brand of pans. All pans stick unless you use some sort of spray or oil or butter
Theres always tips and tricks for cleaning pits and pans because its a thing.
I find if you grease any pan and try not to burn food it will clean easier.
I dont understand faulting the pan for bad cooking or cooking mistakes. It is not the pan making the food stick...its you. Sorry.
These pans are great. They heat well. They cook well. They clean well.
You truly get what you pay for with Calphalon amnd I love them for it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this stainless steel classic 10 piece set and it's been a nightmare. No matter how much oil I use, food always sticks. Pans are permanently stained after first use and not coming out. poor product and complete waste of money. It seems one pan showing signs of rusting. Certainly not expected from a big brand like Calphalon. I will not recommend this cookware set to anyone

We're sorry to hear that the cookware is sticking, but we really appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention.Please be informed that stainless steel is not nonstick, and food will tend to stick to it. The cookware will release the food if used correctly. First, any food that has been refrigerated needs to be taken out at least 5 -10 minutes prior to cooking to allow food to warm slightly. Placing cold food in a hot pan will cause it to stick. After the food has warmed slightly, preheat the pan for about a minute to a minute and a half, or until the pan is hot. Once it is hot, lightly coat the pan with butter or oil, and let that heat for a few seconds to one minute. Once the oil reaches the proper temperature, place the food in the pan. Since the pans are stainless steel, we recommend using metal utensils. If none of this helps and if you feel that your cookware is defective, we'd like to kindly request you to contact us directly so that we may come up with the best resolution to your concern as your product carries a limited lifetime warranty. The handles are very comfortable. They are heavy but not so much that they are hard to lift when full of food. I like the measurements in the pots and the strainers in the lids. Also, I like that there is a pour spout on the smaller pots. I am very happy with my purchase.
