I love my induction cooktop but was stumped as to a two-burner griddle; most everything I saw in stores was aluminum and wouldn't work with induction. I've used my Calphalon cast iron griddle to make pancakes, french toast, bacon, grill chicken and fish... very versatile and I love the way cast iron cooks. So yes, this item works well with induction.

Cast iron Clueless

WOW, the ignorance as to the proper use and care of cast iron cookware displayed in these reviews is amazing. It is cast IRON folks, unprotected it rusts, that is what cast iron does. Go look at the brake drums on your car, they are CI and they rust too. Washing your CI with any kind of soap will remove the seasoning. Maintaining the seasoning on CI is somewhat of an art. Go look on Youtube and there are tons of videos how to apply and maintain the non-stick attributes of a properly cared for seasoning. Also, CI is not a particularly good conductor of heat, not like copper or aluminum. You need to heat any CI up with moderate heat and allow the entire pan to come to a stable temperature otherwise you are going to have hot and not so hot zones.

While maintaining the seasoning should keep your Cast Iron and Carbon Steel in good condition, at some point you may need to re-season your cookware. If food sticks to the surface, or you notice a dull, gray color or if rust appears, follow the seasoning process below.
Wash the cookware with hot, soapy water and a stiff brush. (It is okay to use soap this time because you are preparing to re-season the cookware). Rinse and dry completely. Apply a very thin, even coating of MELTED solid vegetable shortening (or cooking oil of your choice) to the cookware inside and out. Too much oil will result in a sticky finish. Place aluminum foil on the bottom rack of the oven (not directly on bottom) to catch any drips. Set oven temperature to 350 – 400 degrees F. Place cookware upside down on the top rack of the oven to prevent pooling. Bake the cookware for at least one hour. After the hour, turn the oven off and let the cookware cool in the oven. Store the cookware uncovered, in a dry place when cooled. Repeat as necessary.

Great Basic Grill / Griddle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this for Christmas (Dec 2019) and have used it a half dozen times so far. Does a great job getting a good sear / crust on meat and nice crispy edges on French toast. I've had zero problems with either food sticking or rust appearing.
Cast iron always has to be fully pre-heated before putting food on it, or it will stick. Meat releases, as expected, when the maillard reaction has sufficiently occurred.
Cast iron also must be always thoroughly dried (in a hot oven or over burners) after washing or it will rust. Lightly coating it with some neutral oil after dried is good too. Can't hurt to do some extra seasoning either.
(Also, any rust can be scrubbed off with steel wool and salt and the cast iron re-seasoned, if rust does occur - though, if handled correctly, it shouldn't rust at all.)

Rusted after two uses!

Today is Thursday. I purchased the griddle on Monday and have used it a total of two times and it has already rusted. This is definitely not as advertised. Not pre-seasoned. Shoddy, shoddy product. Would not recommend.

I purchased this item last week, and washed it after returning home with the product prior to use. I was very upset to discover it completely rusted on both sides and unusable before even being able to cook on it.
