Super Injector/Baster

Though the rack and roasting pan were the quality I expect from all of my Calphalon cooking sets, the quality of the Turkey Grabbers were an unexpected bonus. They make handling the Hot Roast Turkey easy. The one piece that sets this set apart is the Baster/Injector. Most injectors have small hypodermic size vials that you are constantly refilling. Also when trying to suck up the juices to reinject, using the baster to extract the fluid then screwing on the needle is even a greater invention than pre-sliced bread.

Not just for meat

I am a sometimes vegetarian and I do not cook meat very often. I was not sure this would serve my purposes, but it is great! I wanted to make roasted veggies with a balsamic dressing to take to a party. I cut up onions, peppers, two types of squash, sweet potatoes and eggplant. Then I tossed them with the dressing and put them in the bottom of the pan. I also put 6 ears of corn, in tinfoil, on the rack above the veggies. Everything was cooked perfectly- even the corn! I wish I had thought to take a picture.
A few days later I pot a pork loin on the rack with veggies underneath and that was wonderful as well. The baster that comes with the pan has a sharpened end that seems like it will go into the meat and baste it. I was really excited to try it because it is seemed like such a good idea. I used it a little, but it didn't really seem to work. I think it would work really well on a pot roast or a turkey, but the pork just was not the right thing to use it on.
The only thing that could make this a better product is if it came with a cover. I had to use tin foil for my pork, and a cover would have helped. Also, I have a small kitchen and this is a large pan, so storage is an issue for me. But I do really like the versatility of this pan.

Why did I buy one for my daughter and not for me??

Used my daughter's roaster for Thanksgiving dinner....OUTSTANDING!! Held a 20 lb turkey just fine and the clean-up was amazing!! I hand-washed it but now see I could have dishwashered it! Wonderful product! (Why did I buy her one and not me???? I am on the waiting list now for one!!) Many thanks....LOVE my Calphalon cookware.

Best Roaster ever

This roaster is so light weight that it is not too heavy to pickup when you have food in it. So very easy to clean, almos cleans its self.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Quality but could be more user friendly

We received the roaster set; awesome quality and we'll definitely use it a lot. I do wish however that it had some sort of lip along the edge to wrap foil securely onto it; on that note, I also wish it came with maybe a 10 pack of presized foil covers. The foil just doesn't conform to it that well and you need the oversized foil roll to cover the pot completely in one sheet. The rack is very easy to clean but I wish the grating was closer together (veggies fell through into the grease of the pot as they cooked). Turkey lifters were of high quality and worked fine. The injector is of higher quality than normal-very nice. Overall a very nice set but could use some minor changes

Absolutely Perfect Roasting Pan

Not only do I use this pan for the Holidays, but also for large dinner parties. The pan's finish is beautifully polished and looks absolutely lovely when coming out of the oven, adding to the presentation of the edible contents. It's size is perfect for roasting holidays turkeys and hams and it cooks suberbly.

Received With Scratched bed

Product was received with a noticeable "scratch" or burr mark on the bed along almost the entire length of the pan. It's about 1/2 inch wide. Had I noticed this in time I would have returned the product. However, having no substitute, I was forced to use it.
Based on this I think I was sold a "second" or defective unit. NOTE: This burr was on the cooking surface not the exterior bottom.
In all likelihood I shall NOT be purchasing from you again.
